Description

Now we must combine the inert scourgestones and create a weapon to shatter the ranks of undead. This is no trivial task, <name>. Only the trolls of the sunken temple carry the kind of rare magic able to turn the evil of something against itself.

In the temple, the trolls are known as Gasher, Mijan, Zolo, Hukku, Zul'lor, and Loro. Do not feel remorse for their corrupt souls... they are not without evil.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Lightforged Blade
Sanctified Orb
Chivalrous Signet
You will receive:
Holy Mightstone
Also, you get: 1 55

Progress

Have you slain the wretched trolls?

Completion

This is excellent, <name>. I would say I am surprised, but I knew without question that you wouldn't let us down.

It is my honor to bestow one of the Holy Mightstones to you. Use it well.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 635 experience (38 10 at max. level)
  • 150 Reputation with Argent Dawn

The Holy Mightstone is the only such item you can get, so choose carefully where you use it.

The blade is quite bad, Blanchard's Stout and even a blue weapon that can drop from one of the dragons in Sunken Temple (forgot name) is better than that.

Finger is unique at that level, but quickly replaced at 60. And the trinket is 3 critchance at level 60...

And as for trinket, it's 3% critchance for 25 seconds every 3 minutes...

Ring would probably be the best choose-wise choise, but sword costs the most. I'd go for ring if I leveled a new paladin :P

I made the mistake of choosing the ring when I completed this quest. The +7 str/sta/int and healing bonus looked nice to me at the time, but now that I am 60 it's obsolete. If I could choose again I would definitely pick the trinket. Trinket bonuses never seem to get replaced as you progress in levels.

For me, the choice between these items comes down to the trinket or the ring.

The sword is nice with all its resistances and bonus to healing, but it is a 2 handed sword. Thus its uses becomes limited as there are plenty of off-hands in the game that suite a paladin just nice. That, and 2 handed weapons are most likely for DPS paladins and then the bonus to healing becomes next to useless.

As for the ring, it can be replaced quite rapidly at lvl 60. Both
Fordring's Seal ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=16058 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=16058 )
Songstone of Ironforge ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=12543 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=12543 )
are equally good if not better. And both are quest rewards aswell.

As for the trinket, 2 competitors at that slot are
Royal Seal of the Eldre'Thalas ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18472 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18472 )
Blackhand Breadth ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=13965 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=13965 )
The first one is definitly a healing trinket, as where the 2nd one is a dps trinket. Sanctified Orb can be both.

Thus the choice comes down to play style. Healing at lvl 60 or lvling till 70.

Has a horde version of this quest been made available to blood elves? The NPCs involved in this particular chain are Alliance tagged and will presumably attack any blood elf and not offer the quest.

At level 50, the trinket adds 3.71% to crit.

Do yourself a favor, and make absolutly sure that you have all the feathers so you don't have to go back just to pick up one more feather like me...
All mobs besides the guards and the dragonkins will respawn after a certain amount of time.

The reputation with Argent Dawn after completing this quest has been increased to 1000 now.

the blade is quite crap, there are so many other options (which are better) from ZF, ST etc.
if you're full time healadin definatally go for ring.
if you're a sort of pala who quests and takes on different rolls in dungeons, go with orb as it's useful for all specs and has very short CD. saying that, the ring if better value for healing but is not very useful for the other rolls you play as a pala.

As a level 50 prot paladin with very average gear (Shield from Eranikus, Thrash Blade, heirloom shoulders, and a bunch of greens), I was able to solo this quest. The main difficulty is the healers scattered through some of the pulls, but even in the groups with two I was able to down them with hammer of justice and no exorcism interrupts.

Still i find this quest Incredibly hard even at 56 to solo this when everything's got 6-9K hp but the individual minibosses that youre supposed to kill are pretty weak and you've got your heal spell..
Should still play a BG and get 10 combat mana potions and 10 combat health potions. helps
