Gather 20 Bloodkelp from the Strashaz naga and then return to Bodley inside Blackrock Mountain.

Description

As I was saying, <class>, in my living years I flirted with becoming a diviner. But, there really wasn't as much profit in it as you might imagine, mostly because it's dangerous and the reagents are rare and expensive. However, I do know enough to be able to pinpoint the final piece of the amulet, and the spirit of my former comrade along with it.

This is where you come in, <name>. I need you to go to Alcaz Island off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh and collect Bloodkelp from the Strashaz naga that live there.

Progress

Bloodkelp, <name>, a big stack of it, that's what I need to power my divinatory spells. You're likely to need to take at least a couple of friends along with you to Alcaz Island to gather it up... those Strashaz are a nasty lot!

Completion

To be honest, <name>, I'm surprised you made it back in one piece. Then again, I guess Alcaz Island is the least of your worries right now.

Ok, give me a moment here... divination isn't something that you can just snap your fingers and expect accurate answers from.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 660 experience (39 60 at max. level)

Alcaz Island is of course located off the coast of Dustwallow. North east. Guarded by level 60 naga and I think hydras. This once was the holding place of the real king Varian Wrynn who was kidnapped by the defias.

60 rogue, on upgrade quests, so i have pre mc kit [6 man guild]. all mobs are elite. i managed to kill 59&amp;60 naga warriors and serpent guards using crippling and stun lock, 59,60 and 61 sorceress were really easy with stuns, kicks and mind numbing poison, the 59 and 60 sirens with shadow damage were absolute feckers though, swp, mind blast all spells seem instant so could not interupt them.

getting the bloodkelp solo is straightforward as a 60 rogue with average kit.
sirens = shadow damage [ouch]
warrior/serpent = melee [stunlock]
sorceress = frost/arcane [interupt and stunlock]

Keep an eye out for the https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=181053#comments Basket of Bloodkelp on the ground in some areas, they contain 2 or 3 and save some kills. Other information above is still accurate even now, two expansions later.

Mobs drop 0-2 bloodkelp
Baskets have loot sparkles so it's not hard to miss em, containing 1-3 bloodkelp

As has been noted, there are https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=181053 Baskets Of Bloodkelp that contain around 3 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=22094 Bloodkelp per basket and are not noted in the quest text, but they exist. There is at least one located by the tower on the southern side of Alcaz Island.

Stupid question but is there a quest to get to Alcaz Island, because I always get fatigued &amp; drown trying to swim there....I didn't know if there was an npc that ported you there or something like the tower in Azshara. I'm trying to farm Golden Pearls for the Spellpower Enchant.

If you swim in from straight west you should be in relatively shallow water without any fatigue.

I actually killed all of the naga on the island and only had 17/20 bloodkelp. I didn't realize there were stairs leading to a dungeon between the two buildings near the airplane. Go underground for more naga.
