Description

As you might know, I collect lore. Old lore. Powerful lore. Lore that opens doorways, and lore that can awaken Those Who Sleep.

There are rumors of an old piece of lore, the Lorgalis Manuscript, at the bottom of Blackfathom Deeps in Ashenvale. That place is the old dwelling of long-dead elves. Elves who held great knowledge before their city fell to ruin.

Search Blackfathom Deeps for the manuscript. Do this, and I will not forget it. Not even after ... the end days.

This is located in a specific chest. The chest is just to your right as you enter the room with turtles. It is under the water in the alcove just to the right on the North end. There are a few single pull naga which must be killed.

You're looking for a grey Pitted Iron Chest (https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=13949 https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=13949) underwater in the northern leg of the big Pool of Ask'ar cave. It's where Ghamoo-ra the 25 elite turtle sits on the island in the middle. Inside the chest is the Lorgalis Manuscript that you need for the quest.

This quest DOES count toward the https://vanillawowdb.com/?achievement=1678 Loremaster of Kalimdor achievement.

On a side note, this chest does not track using the 'Find Treasure' dwarven racial.

You would not be eligible for this quest if you have the quest ""The Powers Below"" (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=968 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=968) in your quest log. It's an optional prerequisite for this quest. I didn't know this and I was trying to get the quest shared but it said Not Eligible. So, if you want to get this quest shared without travelling a long way to IF to turn it in first, you need to abandon ""The Powers Below"".

If you haven't figured this out, or read the Manuscript, Bonegrip is talking about the Old Gods when he mentions the ""Sleeping Ones"". Is that 1 strength and 4 spirit REALLY worth helping loose Yogg'Saron upon the world?

At level 34 I was able to slip through most of the mobs to get to this without a group, as I outleveled it. The two naga in front of it will likely aggro, however.

Contrary to what the red text at the top of the page says, you can still get this quest and turn it in, the quest giver and receiver are inside the instance, just past where you zone in.
