Return to Thyn'tel Bladeweaver in Darnassus.

Description

We shall rein in the worgen problem, have no worry of that. This evil that your friend introduced to our woods will be contained, and I bear her no ill will for her actions. Strange events are afoot in these times, <name>, and the darkness knows no respite.

I will keep you no longer. I suspect that there are others that should hear of what you have found in the mines of Duskwood.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Lunaris Bow
Moonbeam Wand

Completion

So this is the fate of Velinde, is it? The high priestess will be disappointed to hear of this, they were good friends before her disappearance. Still, the Scythe of Elune was surely granted to her as a boon by our goddess, and it is unsettling to me that it has fallen out of her servants' hands.

Another matter for another time, however. I owe you my thanks in no small amount for what you have accomplished.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 305 experience (18 30 at max. level)
  • 350 Reputation with Darnassus

... So in all this the question was never answered: What happened to the Scythe of Elune?

I would like to see them finish this storyline at some point, and the whole storyline with the Dark Riders in general.

It would be kind of weak if Arugal had the Scythe, though. I mean, a level 26 elite having what appears to be an artifact made by an immensely powerful goddess? That'd be kind of weak.

Would be cool to see it be a legendary some day.

Roughly ~10,000 experience if you get about thousand from the killing in Darkshire, if my head-calculations aren't all off the hook :-&gt;
All the qests together, that is.

Edit: Assumed that you get the experience that Wowhead says, ofcourse.

I don't see how Arugal could have it, it was lost in the mine in Duskwood, worgen arent exactly hightly civalized, and Arugal's worgen and the worgen of Duskwood are not the same, so he shouldent be able to have it, however one of the worgens might have taken the artifact and taken it away. It's currently unknown where the scythe is, but im sure that Arugal don't have it, and what happend to the Night elf priestess? were she lost during her travels to Shadow Fang keep? had Arugal turned her into a worgen? or is she in some hidden champer in the enormus keep? GIVE SOME ANSWERS BLIZZARD! Im not sure what to belive, but i have a feeling that the Night elf priestess is still alive, but the scythe...Who knows.

Edit: How did it end up in duskwood mine? Did the Priestess loose it there in her travels to SFK?

allowing people to summon Worgens for a short duration or turn into one yourself.One of the spell books in Karazhan allows you to turn into a Worgen. Nothing cooler than seeing a troll hunter morphing to a Worgen using the Sunfury bow :D and with the fast attack speed, you basically ""stay"" as a Worgen until the 30-60 mins is up (Killed Prince as a Worgen &gt;D pity the buff went off when we were about to take screenies)

As for the possibility of our wayward priestess turning up in the emerald dream I would have to say no. Being that she isn't a druid (or a dragon) there really is no way for her to enter the emerald dream. I think the implication here is that she is dead, whether her remains are located in the mine or not.

We DO see her spirit manifest on occasion and I can't imagine her giving up the sacred weapon of her goddess if she were alive to say anything about it.

To be honest I think that the scythe will end up in Arugal's hands when we confront him in Icecrown. The diary does mention that she seemed to be losing control of the scythe, perhaps Arugal could sense it operating from a distance and was exerting his will to bring it under his control. No reason why he couldn't have left his keep for a little day trip down to duskwood to pick up the scythe.

You get 350 Darnassus rep now.

Wish I knew that before, it would have saved me from doing two quest chains to hit exalted &gt;_&gt;

The scythe will probably have something to do with the worgen you get to play as in the Cataclysm expansion

Very interesting old-world quest chain that actually gives more lore than the expositions Blizzard has put out so far for Worgen in the http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/features/worgen.html next expansion.

The quest chain is very interresting indeed, and if you listen to the trailer for Cataclysm you hear ""an old ally have arisen"" and you see night elves negocigating (dunno if that's spelled right) with the worgen, so i think, that Velinde returned from whereever she was, but.. it's only my thought and imagination ^^

Ironic title given that there are actually no real answers in this quest chain.

Some questions regarding this quest chain may have been addressed in Cataclysm, via the worgen starting quests.

TotalHalibut did a lore reading from a journal he found on the Beta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w25MXiODmuE

Worgen evidently were formerly night elf druids that were devoted to the wolf, much to Malfurion's chagrin. He forbid it, stating that the nature could not be controlled. Looks like he was right...
