Description

We are not in open war with the Horde, but our peace is fragile. We often find their agents moving against us, but they do so covertly.

One such advance was revealed to us from hidden sources in Theramore, claiming that the orcs collect venom from the pridewings near Mirkfallon Lake, in the Stonetalon Mountains to the south. Orc assassins then use the venom on their secret death raids against the Alliance!

If this is true, then we must stop them, <name>. We must deny them their source of venom.

Do you have the pridewing venom sacs, <name>? We cannot allow the orcs to use the beasts' poisons against us!

Completion

Thank you, <name>. It saddens me to order the slaughter of creatures who may not willingly aid our enemies, yet it is my duty to do so.

Your heart might weep for the pridewings you slew, my friend, but may your heart then swell in knowing that your allies are safe from the pridewings' venom.

A good place to do this is southwest of the lake, around 44.47. The pridewings there have a fast respawn rate, i.e. by the time I killed one another one had spawned.

edit: Don't go alt+tab to post comments while you're there. You might end up dead :D

Very low drop rate, but good respawn rate.
Done in about 20-30 minutes :

Drop rate is very poor, also make sure that you dont stay about on a respawn spot cause if you get outnumbered you're running back from the Spirit Healer sharpish!

This quest can be very annoying for Rogues, as the poison used by the Wyverns lasts 30 seconds long which might impede your stealth ability. Dwarf rogues or anyone with a way to remove poison shouldn't have to worry as much.

I spent almost an hour hunting down the Venom Sacks for the quest,and only got 5.I looked up the highest drop rate,and it says Pridewing Wyvern drop them at about 40%.I'd say its more around 20%.

The drop rate for this quest does indeed blow monkey balls. On the plus side the pridewings have a very fast respawn rate. I recommend toughing it out and finishing the quest if you're a skinner, as these will be some of the first mobs you'll encounter to regularly give you medium leather.

I actually had a really great drop rate; about 1 venom sac per 1.3 pridewing. (50,45)

46,46 on the Stonetalon Mountains map is a very good spot to do this quest as the https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4014 Pridewing Consorts &amp; https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4012 Pridewing Wyverns spawn quite quickly on and around the small rise. Drop rate for https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=5808 Pridewing Venom Sac is about 80%.
