Seek out Argent Guard Thaelrid in Blackfathom Deeps.

Description

Many rumors circulate these days about the union of the Twilight's Hammer and the naga in Blackfathom Deeps on the coasts of Ashenvale.

My role here with the Argent Dawn is to collect as much information as I can, so we know when and where help is needed.

It has been weeks now since I sent a scout to check on the activity at Blackfathom Deeps. Argent Guard Thaelrid has not yet reported back.

My other scouts are preoccupied with pressing matters.

Seek out and aid Thaelrid for me, <name>.

Dawnwatcher Shaedlass was good to send you. There is indeed a wicked plot underway in this corrupted place.

This quest is also available to Horde, though the questgiver is a bit out of the way. (And, of course, it doesn't grant the Darnassus rep.)

In the room with the turtle boss, there is a cave (past the turtle platform). You have to swim underwater to get to it. Thaelrid is in there. (Look for the dot on your map.) Note that this is not the same cave as the one that holds Lady Sarevess (https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4831 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4831) which is farther to the right.

Please note that the quest Blackfathom Villiany can be accepted without this quest and if you do not accept this quest first and do Blackfathom Villiany, In Search of Thaelrid will not be available to you upon completion. (found that out the hard way)

Trying to accept the followup quest as Horde gives you ""That quest is not available for your race."".
He still gives the Horde version of that quest, though. Basically just an annoyance. ^^

In addition to being offered to Horde, confirmed to count towards https://vanillawowdb.com/?achievement=1680 Loremaster of Kalimdor (Horde).

Also counts for https://vanillawowdb.com/?achievement=978 3000 Quests Completed.

EDIT: why am I being downrated? It's important to know that this quest explicitly counts towards the Horde version of the achievement, too!

I tried to do this quest today. (Level 24 Blood Elf Hunter) Made the mad dash through Auberdine and the and the purple ""portal"" only to find that the stupid guy wouldn't give me the quest! You must have to be a higher level have it offered as horde. Or perhaps, you must already have rep with Argent Dawn. I don't know. I just wanted to post so that no one else had to waste the time that I did. :(

As a level 37 Draenei Mage, picked this quest up and when I turned it in to the NPC inside Blackfathom Deeps, I was awarded with 1000 Argent Dawn reputation. Might want to get the tooltip fixed. However, at the time I was also max exalted with Darnassus, so I am not sure if that has any bearing at all.

Level 24 night elf with my friend a level 20 night elf. We cannot get past 20 feet without constantly being killed. Anyone have any tips?

Got this quest in Darnassus, some guys were standing in one of the houses close to the Cooking trainer....Maybe this will help...Lvl 25 night elf rogue, stealthed....killed in glory....or maybe not really in glory.....Abandoned the quest for now...Maybe I am to tired.
