Prate Cloudseer can be found here: https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=5905 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=5905

She's a tauren by the cave. You'll need to go up the ledge to talk to her. There's no quest, jsut talk to her and she gives you the totem. While you're there get the quest from the guy in the cave. It's one of the funner and quite easy quest in the game.

Don't get spooked and JUMP.

What's odd about this quest is that there is a stone like the ones that youll find where you do the quests for the other totems, ontop of one of the pillars close to the cave. When you look at this fact and the way the quest text is written, it seems like Blizzard had something more in mind for this quest, but that it didnt quite get into the final build of the game.

Or blizz felt sorry for that last totem they forced us to get and decided to give us this one for free.Vanilla was chaulked full of half finished and abandoned content. My memory is hazey, but as a person who joined in 1.2 I do recall Blues saying this quest line would one day be finished. Waaaaay back in Vanilla, though.

Odds are your statement is right in they felt sorry for players as times changed. Recall, that Stratholme was originally a raid as was Scholomance. You had to get 40 players through BRD to get to Ragnaros.

Heck, you know how quests are the way to level now? Originally Blizzard thought people wouldn't dig them that much, and used quests as a learning curve tool in the earliest test phases of WoW. Around level 20 they'd dry up (even at launch you could only have 10 quests in your log at a time) leaving mob grinding till 60.

""feeling sorry"" was not in the Blizzard dictionary back then as they didn't know what to expect. Feeling sorry was something that developed as they procrastinated completing the air quest chain.

This quest was removed in patch 4.0.1 along with a large amount of other class-specific quests.
