Ashlan Stonesmirk was assigned to the regiment guarding Dun Modr and the Thandol Span. I need you to make a grave and perilous journey, <name>.

Travel through the Algaz Gate, follow the road through the Wetlands and seek out Stonesmirk in Dun Modr. Heed my advice: stick to the roads and stop for nothing!

Ashlan Stonesmirk is situated at 50, 18 in Wetlands (https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=1073 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=1073). The next part of the quest sends you back to the dam in Loch Modan.

Jumping off the dam seemed very tempting for me, but I recommend you take the normal route unless you have slow fall or similar spells.
I did jump off the dam, only to die through falling damage even despite landing in the water, which in fact just isn't deep enough.
You'll end up having a looong corpse run, since the dam is followed by two waterfalls which you can't climb from down below.

It is strongly suggested that you put your hearthstone in Thelsamar if youre doing this, makes getting back much easier.
