These panthers can stealth, so they're a big pain to track down, especially so if you're sitting about the same level as them and your stealth detection kicks in at just about aggro range.

There's two main areas of them, but they're pretty spread out. Try East of the main road, just as you cross the second bridge heading south, around 47, 23. Another good place is along the main road just North of the Gurubashi Arena; just head off either side of the road and see if any pop up. From about 37, 44 to 40, 34.

These are really spread out, but generally stick close to the main roads. They're stealthed, so you need to be almost on top of them to see them. If you're not a hunter who can track beasts, then just set a macro to /target Shadowmaw and spam the hell out of it as you walk a few feet off the side of the road.

As far as I've explored, I've never found a cluster of them exclusively, so be patient and prepare for a lot of walking.

I found these panthers in the same place as the Jungle Stalker Raptors of this q:
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=196 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=196

Coords: 32, 37

Just near and around the coast.

I posted a screenshot of the area too. The pic just needs to be approved to show up.

Should definitely be done with [38] Mok'thardin's Enchantment because most of the Shadowmaw Panthers and Stranglethorn Tigresses are found in the same areas.

Did this mostly at 46,28.

I've found most in the area between (45,25) and (46,28). Where I also found Bag'thera. If you only see lots of Tigresses, then kill them. They take up spots where Panthers can be, and it seems that they switch between spawning.

Alot of them around 36,39 (North East of Gurubashi Arena).
Look around the big trees, and make sure you have your sound turned on.

I found all of mine around 37,34. All around the eastern part of the hill that has King Bangalash on it. Just watch for him and the few Tigress's and you'll do fine :D

Around 46,28. The panthers and tigers share the spawn points. Kill some tigers if you can't find them 50% change there will be a panther next time.

Catseye Elixir helps (and is very cheap on my server). You can generally see them before you reach aggro range with the elixir (and 1-2 levels below the cats) if you don't like using yourself as bait.

This is a true testiment of patience. It's easiest with a hunter along who has tracking abilities...in fact, hard as heck without one! I found that just hanging out at 47.23 was the perfect place to find them....there are 3 that spawn in that area. Stay away from the Venture Mining guys, but hang out on the little ridge area there and let them come to you. When you kill all 3 that spawn there, wait for them to respawn. Took me about an hour just hanging out with my lvl 40 hunter, but eventually, they all came out to play.

https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=7871 Se'Jib is overlooking a bunch of them.

Create a macro that says: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c378/Jemaniya/WoW/WoWScrnShot_011908_132907.jpg /target Shadowmaw and hit it repeatedly as you walk around the trees between 36,36 and 36, 38.

Can do quest with: https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=570 1) Mok'thardin's Enchantment (if you do, don't forget to kill the orange tigers too for the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=3839 pristine drop).

the way im thinking while doing this Q is:

If u see a large open field with no mobbs, there is a high possibility that there are som shadowmaws there...

That is...in the 2 main sonez for the shadowmaw's ( 47, 23 and 37, 44 )

If you're a Warlock (lvl 42+): summon your Felhunter for the Paranoia buff and put it on aggressive.

If you're a Hunter: Use ""Track Hidden"" and put your pet on aggressive.

Then walk the area where the Panthers spawn and your pet will attack them as soon as you get close to one.

There's no need for a targetting macro in these cases.

I tended to find a lot of them surrounding the hill where King Bangalash (the 43 elite tiger) pats around. The hill is southeast of the horde camp Grom'gol, across the river and past the little hut where the troll leatherworking trainer is. Just roam around the hill while spamming the /target shadowmaw macro and you'll find a bunch of them.

I found all of my Shadowmaw Panther's in only about 20 min. around 46,27. I just kept doing a loop around the area from Venture Co. Base, Mosh'Ogg Ogre, Balia'mah Ruins, and Mizjah Ruins. Just be careful as there are some lvl. 42 Ogre's and the aggro easy. I solo'd it at 35 w/ my Hunter and wasn't too bad at all.

I found a goos amount of them on the side of the main road, right across from the ogre mound, and a little south. if you walk down the road, you'll just detect them. had no problem witht this as a 36 priest.

Actually, it was easy to find them. When you walk on the road that takes you to the Rebel camp, just get near trees, they are usually in sleath, turning around trees! wasn't so hard to find them... but tough as a lvl 34

It's best to do this quest with your speaker volume up. Why? Because, as you get close to a stealthed panther, it will unstealth. This will make a noise that is very easy to hear. Sometimes, you may miss the fact that panther unstealthed because you weren't looking in the right direction. The noise it makes will alert you that a panther has unstealthed, so you can look in all directions to easily find the panther.

Be warned--these guys not only tend to congregate around the trees, they apparently can sometimes get stuck in them, which obviously makes them even harder to find. I just pulled one out of a tree simply by going close enough for my character to collide against the tree, which aggroed the panther out from inside it.

Definately found a handful at around 36,39 ish, near the Arena, managed to kill all 10 there. Beware of other beasts such as the Tigeress's and Basilisks roaming around, as well as King Bangalash, the lvl 43 elite beast. This quest reaaaally tests your patience.

For Cataclysm you will want to hunt the ones that stretch between the Mosh' ogg Ogre mound area North to the steps of Zul' Gurub. The numbers and concentrations are much higher. When you are done Bag' thera is right there to complete the next quest.
