Blisters on The Land

Kill 8 Fen Creepers, then return to Rethiel the Greenwarden in the Wetlands.
  •
Fen Creeper slain (8)

Description

I do not know why, but a festering grows within the Wetlands. Fen Creepers have risen. They are diseased, fevered blisters on the land, and for the fever to break they must be dispatched and allowed to settle back into the marshes.

The Fen Creepers shamble amidst the waterways of the Wetlands.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Fen Keeper Robe
Forest Chain
Phytoblade

Progress

The Wetlands still weep, and the Fen Creepers still rage. Return to me when your task is done.

Completion

This land is soothed by your efforts, and for this I will grant you a boon.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 265 experience (15 90 at max. level)

By far one of the most annoying quests. Since these are STEALTHED you need to walk up and down the little creeks to find them. Good luck if someone else is doing the quest since you have no idea which area was cleared and which wasn't.

A trick is to listen to that stealthing sound when looking for them. Sometimes they're quite difficult to distinguish with the background and water.

I just did this quest today, and these Fen Creepers are found in the water channels of the Wetlands between The Sundown Marsh (where murlocs/giant crocolisks are) and The Green Belt (the area with the Greenwarden and eastward). I found the greater number of these in the shallow pool areas of the water channels.

If you stick to the waterways in the saltspray glen you will find them all in a matter of minutes, i found none everywhere else in the wetlands, it is north of menthil harbor.

If you're a hunter, you can use track hidden to see them if you're close to them

There should be about one in every pool of water in the central wetlands.

They are easy enough to kill as long as you get the first hit...

If you hate killing unnecessary mobs and you already did the crocolisk quests you're gonna hate this one. The crocolisks ""stealth"" in a way by going through all the god damned bushes and then jumps at you. Really great time sink.

EDIT: And on my computer all stealthed mobs/players are easier to spot. Somewhy they go totally solid when they get into sight range, then go transparent again. Hmm, weird.

These rewards are complete garbage.

The fen creepers are always in the water, never on dry land. So just jump into a random pool of swamp water, and you'll probably find one.

I was getting quite annoyed by being attacked by https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=1040 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=1040 so i wanted to tell him off, but when i got this quest i realised. Rathiel is totally insane he knew that the gnolls would keep on spreading and he ran out of spongy morels. The best thing to do in that case was for Rathiel to make up a story about his kind being diseased, so that you would start wiping them out. Then he would collect their corpses and make more https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=4606 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=4606 for the quest rewards. Just guess where he got rewards to this quest from!

Just stay the **** away from that guy

These are the locations I found those mobs:

[54,40]; [55,46]; [54,37]; [53,36]; [47,32]; [46,29]; [46,34]; [47,36]

So I didnt have to walk a long distance actually.

I hope this info helps. =)
