Oh my, you must be the scout Longbraid said he would send! You cannot imagine how worried I have been.

My wife, Merrin, has been sending me letters each week for the past month. She is part of the Whelgar Excavation team. But it has been nearly two weeks since her last correspondence. Surely something is wrong!

Longbraid said that he would send a scout to check up on things if we did not hear from the team soon. I assume that scout is you, <name>. Find Merrin at the excavation site to the east!

Found Merrin at 38.8, 52.3 in the cave at the top of the hill
stay to the left .. up the hill ... as you enter the camp area
had to kill one small 22 lvl raptor ....

Just uploaded a screenshot of where the quest ends. To get to the cave, head south from the road and when your screen flashes ""Discovered Whelgar Excavation Site,"" look to your left (East). You should see a steep path running straight up the mountain. Follow that path up -- kill the raptor that gets in your way -- and cross a small bridge and the cave you need to get to should be right in front of you.

Also, in front of the cave is another dwarf who will give you the quest ""Ormer's Revenge"" (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=294 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=294).

Entrance to excavation site is at 34,41 just by the road above the H in ""Whelgar's"" on the map.

A better, less raptor-infested entrance can be found through the mountains starting at 42,45 and the drop into the entrance is at 38,45

I went over through the Dragonmaw orcs. Killed a 5-6 lvl 26-27.
