Quest is now worth 6550 exp

As an addendum to Truenos, with instant mail between your characters, I STRONGLY advise rolling a level 1 ""bank"" character in SW/IF or ORG and mailing all your pages to it as you get them. You can sell your pages for about 10-30 silver on the AH, and you can save/purchase the pages as you need without sacrificing valuable bag space. (Added perk is any mailbox is now effectively an auction house.) Happy hunting!

My pally just hit 40 doing this quest. What I did was a combination of farming and buying for this. Just do all of the lowest level quests in STV, especially the troll and rebel ones. By the time you finish those and a few of the ""Mastery"" quests you should have well over half of the pages. If you check out the http://wowstreet.ajs.com/wowstreet?report=search&q=Green+Hills+of+Stranglethorn prices for all of the pages, you can just figure out exactly when the pages you have left will cost you little enough that you don't mind buying them.

I dinged 40 turning this in and then immediately turned around and headed back to Dustwallow to finish out all of those new quests added in 2.3 that I was too low level for when I did Dustwallow in the low-mid 30s. It was probably the fastest leveling I'll see until I'm doing the Linkin quests in my high 40s.

Level 33 Warrior - 1100xp each Chapter quest and 5500xp from this quest, total of 10950. Well worth it considering how easy it is to acquire the pages with some gold. Just head to Booty Bay and go to the neutral Auction House, click the quest category and then type in Stranglethorn and hit enter, you'd be unlucky not to find at least one of each page on there with a buyout price.

If you are lazy and have about 20 spare gold, all pages can be easly bought in the AH. Don't go to the Booty Bay action house but to the main action house.

I've seen al pages at least 5 times. I think this is the best en easiest way if youre going for the achievement and are high level. (What is 20 g at lvl 80 ?)

If possible, you may actually want to check the prices on both your faction AH and the neutral AH. I was able to find the pages cheaper on the neutral AH.

Yeah, I dont get why so many people hate this quest and why it's been said to be the ""worst quest in WoW"" by it's own designer.
It's a pretty easy quest to do while you're running about leveling in stranglethorn and actually the book itself if you read it all is a nice little bit of lore for us lore lovers.
Any pages you dont get you can usually pick up from the auction house in booty bay for like 10 silver and you get pretty nice rewards, a tonne of exp for doing so. I dont see the problem with it personally; its actually one of my favorites.

I know it's been said but here's once more, all the pages for your Auction House convenience ( now with links if you prefer to farm ). Very much a quest worth doing on older servers. Maybe not on new ones but if you can just buy all the pages, it's totally worth the trouble.
Also, remember that the price difference between the Neutral and Faction AH varies between servers so check yours rather then believing the comments here.

I found some pages, bought some on the faction AH, and others on the neutral AH. Prices ranged from 4 silver to 2g25s on both AHs (this is on Tanaris server); I spent about 6g on all pages.

Received 1100 XP on each Chapter, as mentioned above, but got 6550XP for completion; lvl 34, patch 3.2.2.10505.

As the quest text says, ""I was able to gather most of the pages but many are still strewn about the jungle. Collect the pages to complete each of the four chapters."" That's why you're only grabbing a few pages.

I had this quest before, and got tired and dropped it. Now Im back as a lv77 to finish it (I want the achievement) but the quest isn't coming up for me. I turned on low-level quests on my mini-map but the NPC just says hi, doesnt offer it to me.

With heirloom this quest gives 1200 XP per Chapter quest and 7200 XP for last and final quest. Added together it gives a total of 12000 XP

So, I went back to get these done on my 80, since I'm working on my Loremaster and I had skipped them all way back when, because they seemed like a giant pain (because they were... are).

Bought all the pages at the local AH, save for one, which I got at Booty Bay, but the price was reasonable. Spent about 5g in total.

But then, I couldn't figure out how to combine the pages into chapters. I spent a good 10 minutes asking guildies, searching the intertubes, trying combinations of shift, drag, and right- and left-click. Because I'm a dork. Don't be a dork.

Get all the pages, then go talk to Barnil. Surprise! He's actually got 4 more quests to offer you, which will actually take all those pages and turn them into the chapters he wants, which will then allow you to actually complete the quest.

My leveling guild kept multiple complete sets of this in the guild bank at a time when most of the guild was in their 30s. When you discovered Hemet's camp and the quest you would suddenly realise what all those pages in the guild bank were for and would head down to Booty Bay to pick up a set. As you continued questing in Stranglethorn you would pick up pages which would all go back in the guild bank for the next person.

If you don't have a guild that does this, there are two strategies you can take. Which one you choose depends on the price of pages in your local auction house.

1. Cheap prices at AH: Buy them and turn in the quest. Vendor any that you pick up after this.
2. Expensive prices at AH: Do other quests in Stranglethorn Vale and hang on to at least one of every page you get. Send the rest to a bank alt and stick them in the auction house. Auction them one-at-a-time; don't sell stacks of them. The people buying them want exactly one of each page, no more. You should only need to collect about half the pages and sell them in order to make enough money to buy the ones you are missing.

Of course, there's no reason to stop collecting them after you have finished the quest if there's a healthy pile of gold to be made at the auction house.

One thing that definitely helps when you turn in the pages is activating a MOLL-E if you don't have room in your packs to carry all the pages :)

You do NOT get RAF-bonus from these quests, confirmed by GM Barchocon @ EU.

They nerfed this quest into Oblivion. You now only have to find a single page, and it drops off the first mob you kill.

Got a quest here to find Page 14, but the old page does not work, have to loot the new one(s). so basically vendor em if you have pre-patch ones laying around for alts....
