Description

Outstanding! My name is Belnistrasz, and I thank you for rescuing me. I had given myself up for dead... or worse, as a meal for these Scourge-infested vermin. Yes - I said Scourge all right; they've brokered some sort of deal with the Quilboar here, and this nightmare is a result.

Listen... rather than just flee, I want to make a difference for all of our sakes. Would you be up to helping me out to that end? It's probably dangerous, but you seem to be the type not to worry about that too much.

Progress

I'm not one for politics; I care not if your affiliations are for either Horde or Alliance. I am more interested in squelching direct and dire threats to all the races... and we have quite a large one in here.

If you're willing to be a true hero for all people, then hand me the oathstone I have given you as a sign of commitment. I'm... not from around these parts; an oathstone is important to people of my kind as a bond of agreement.

Fantastic, I thought you looked to be the heroic type! We've got our work cut out for us <name>, I'm not going to lie to you. If we stay focused on the task at hand, we should be able to come out on top.

It is an escort quest within the Downs, at the prison cells just before you get to the skeleton boss.

This quest isn't the escort quest yet. Everyone can safely accept and finish this quest. After finishing this one you will be offered to accept the actual escort quest (Extinguishing the Idol: https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=3525 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=3525). Make sure everyone in your party has finished this quest before accepting the escort.

I think the whole Dragon oathstone bit is a pretty neat concept. And if I'm not mistaken, there's at least two other oathstones in the game from both the Green and Blue Dragonflights.

Anyone else enjoy how the quest titled 'Scourge of the Downs' is the one most susceptible to being ruined by mentally hindered group members?

Can obtain the quest still, I was running the instance today and did the quest. Wasnt able to turn in but I was still able to do the quest and fight the boss at the end.

Quest is completable as of November 8, 2012. I'm not sure why everyone is saying it isn't. Here is video evidence of it.

I was able to complete this today (April 27, 2013). We originally picked up the quest halfway through the dungeon from him in his cage, escorted him back through the path was had just come from and killed the mobs and the piggy boss that spawns where he channels the purple stuff. The quest then said it was completed in my log, but when we checked for him back in his cage where the question mark appeared on the map (Why would you go back in your cage! I just let you out!) he was not there. We completed the dungeon and then ran back to check his cage location again. He was there and we turned in the quest for a very small amount of exp (around 800 at lvl 43). He then wanted to do his escort mission again. So we did it again and killed the mobs and boss again (piggy boss did drop loot again). Then you can turn in his quest at the little fire altar thingy in the same room.

For the second go around of his escort mission, all the dps had dropped group because the dungeon was technically over. We were able to complete it really easily though with a pally tank and pally healer.
