Morrowgrain Research

Take the Arch Druid's Seed Voucher to Mathrengyl Bearwalker in the Cenarion Enclave of Darnassus.
Seed Voucher
Provided Item:
Seed Voucher

Description

With what we call an Evergreen Pouch, we have cultivated Tharlendris seeds in the soil from Un'Goro Crater. These seeds blossom into an array of random, potent herbs. One result is morrowgrain, a mysterious herb we know little about; I intend to unravel this mystery.

Take this to Mathrengyl downstairs, and he will give you some seeds so you can get started. If you run out, you will need to purchase more from him.

Progress

Peace and serenity be yours, friend. You are here on business from the Arch Druid himself, yes?

Completion

Yes, this voucher is good for twenty packets of seeds. If you run out, we have more that can be provided. Unfortunately though, Tharlendris seeds are quite costly to produce in significant numbers. This is why the Cenarion Circle asks that those who are assisting us help out by offsetting some of the cost.

Those who return with morrowgrain find that the reward the Arch Druid offers far makes up for the cost.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 47 experience (2 82 at max. level)
  • 10 Reputation with Darnassus

Sadly, this quest does NOT count toward Loremaster of Kalimdor.

Bummer...

In 3.2, there is no longer a 10 minute cool down. Yay! Instead, it is a 5 second cool down. I was able to finish the quest in about a minute. Also, it no longer seems to little my bag with other herbs. The only other thing it produced was Mutated Morrowgrain.

Patch 4.0.1 situation:
* you can't get the quest to turn in morrowgrain to Mathrengyl Bearwalker in Darnassus, it gives a bugged message. So to continue this quest tree you must come down to Feathermoon Stronghold and deal with Quintis Jonespyre.
* my pathetic 93 herbalism didn't seem to help the returns. In the first quest to get 10 morrograin for XP, I got 1-3 morrowgrain every time.
* In the first quest to get 10 morrowgrain for XP, I did not get a single Mutated Morrowgrain in 7 seedings. BUT, once I turned in the first quest, I got Mutated Morrowgrain 85% of the time and only got healthy morrowgrain 15% of the time. I burned through all my Un'Goro Soil and was still unable to get 5 healthy Morrowgrain to turn in for the subsequent award. THEREFORE: if you want the subsequent award, whatever it may be now (used to be more seeds but that doesn't make much sense anymore), burn through all your Un'goro soil FIRST, while you have the quest for 10 morrowgrain and xp. Only turn it in when you have used up all your soil, and then turn in the subsequent repeatable quest for 5 morrowgrain.
