Venture forth to the Burning Steppes and find out what became of Sha'ni Proudtusk.

Description

Sha'ni was sent to investigate reports of strange ritualistic activity coming from the Firegut ogres of the Burning Steppes over three weeks ago.

Goretooth tells me that he hasn't heard from anyone in that platoon and that it's best that I move on and focus on the task at hand. Can you believe it? That's my wife!

I can't leave my post, <name>, but I must know what became of Sha'ni. Travel to the Burning Steppes and search for her.

We were planning on moving in with my mother and father in the Hinterlands after our tours were over. Now those plans are ruined!

Sha'ni is on top of Dreadmaul rock in the Burning Steppes. NOT in the badlands and NOT in Searing Gorge.

Her coords are 80,45. You will find her between four pillars. Right click her corpse and talk to her ghost.

To get the Sha'ni, follow the red lava path up from 77,51.

You cannot get to the top from 77,51... maybe with a Warrior's Charge you can.

If you want to climb up the mountain, go 76,38 and walk up the rope bridge

The guy who gives this quest sometimes patrols around Badlands with the rest of the Kargath Expeditionary Force. You cannot get the quest from him while he is patrolling; you have to wait for him to return to Kargath.

The ogre's can kick you backwards, so make sure you keep your back to the path and not the edge of the mountain.

The skeleton is on an altar at exactly 79.8,45.6. Right-click on the skeleton, click on good-bye and wait. Look between the two pillars closest to you for a ghost. Look for something half-visible (even the yellow question mark is hard to spot...) Exact co-ords for Sha'ni's ghost are: 80.0,45.4

Be careful as she is a GHOST that spawns after clicking remains.

She and be hard to see!

as a 52 hunter i went up the rope bridge thing and had to kill evey thing in my path, but only took five mins total. going up the lava roads is diffacult unless you can jump realy high..

I don't know why, because it wasn't particularly better written than any of the other questlines of vanilla, but this quest was the first time anything in WoW actually touched me. I only did it once, on my main, and I still have Sha'ni's ring - I have every intention of treasuring it for the rest of my time in the game. Spirits be with you, Sha'ni.

This quest worked differently for me, playing WOTLK...

Found the skeleton at 79.8-45.5, clicked and nothing happened, but noticed the ? on my map was over to the side a bit so I was close, but not where I needed to be..

Found her in a cave at ground level, entrance 77.3-47.5, just inside to the right at 78.6-45.5.

Talk and she asks you to get her ring back (kill Krom'Grul @ 80.7-46.3 near her bones) and return it to the Quest Giver.
