Filled Pure Sample Jar (10)
Provided Item:
Bag of Empty Ooze Containers

Description

I'm going to need more samples, <name>. But--and I don't know how to put this--they have to be pure samples. I know, I know. "What does 'pure' mean, Laris?" I'm not sure. I do know that these are corrupt... just like Felwood. Which is what makes my realization so important. The oozes seem to adapt... to take on the aspects of the area they're in. I'll need to find samples that haven't been polluted. But where? Where?!

Bah! <name>, take these containers just in case you find any on your own.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Hazecover Boots
Brazen Gauntlets
Also, you get: 40

Progress

So many things to consider. But what does it mean? And how does it affect the lives of the people of Azeroth?

Completion

You've found it? <name>, you are a treasure unto yourself. Your dedication and aid has been magnificent and I could not possibly thank you enough.

Please, take this for your troubles. I have some work to do, but I'm sure, if you come back at a later time, I'll have need of your services again.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:

Slimes a quite common for every part of Un'Goro. However they are more presented in numbers at Central, West, and South-West parts of zone. Then you travel in Un'Goro just keep in mind that each 6-7th mob you meet will be a slime.

To fill the ooze jars:

Right click on the ""Bag of Empty Ooze Containers"" that you were provided with.
You will open it to find Empty Pure Sample Jar x 10
Kill any ooze in Un'Goro
Once they are dead, target the corpse of the ooze, and right click on an ""Empty Pure Sample Jar""
The end.

Taking damage while filling a jar will cause pushback but will not interrupt the filling.

If you head to the Hinterlands and kill a SINGLE Jade Ooze, you can keep filling the jars from the creatures dead body.

This will not work for the smaller ooze in the area, just the larger Jade Ooze: https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2656 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2656

Great timesaver.

Also note: Taking samples from the creature will NOT kill it like in the previous quest.

I completed this on a single forest ooze https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=8766 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=8766 in Azshara while doing my class quest on my rogue alt. Quite a pleasant surprise. Filled up ten bottles on one corpse and even then the corpse didn't despawn.

Ditto, can fill 10 jars from the Sap Beasts in Stonetalon, useful if you're doing the quests with Gaxim (also in Stonetalon) for rep.

The question that occurs to me is ""Does the fact that you can fill the jars at almost any ooze mean the quest is bugged or does it mean the quest giver is crazy and there is no such thing as 'pure ooze'?""

Ponder this tonight and write a 300 word essay by Friday. :)

This quest is just increadibly stupid...

The vials say that you might destroy the ooze's corps. Pure bullocks. I went to Wailing Caverns do get my achievement and i saw an ooze. Heck, I had this quest in my bag, so why not try it out for laughters. I just got 10 jars full out of 1 single ooze. Rediculous... :) but funny as hell

There is no need to go and search anywhere to complete this quest at the moment: apparently it is bugged, and the corpse of any mob will let you fill the jars. I filled all ten of them with the rats in the Deeprun Tram.

Same happens with the https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4512 first quest of the chain.

Hmm when you hand this quest in, the questgiver hints that he might need your help again later. At lvl 80, he does not offer any other quests after completing this. Guess it never got finished, like the many other quests arround..

Glad I read the comments on these two quests before trucking all the way over to Felwood. I was in Sporeggar at the time, killed a Sporebat &amp; filled all 12 jars for the first quest from its corpse. Now I'm on my way to IF to turn it in. :)

As of today it doesn't seem to work on the Felwood ooze, nor just any dead body &lt;humanoid or imp, Jadenar Hunters located within Shadow Hold&gt; as suggested above. I haven't tested the rat option yet but its doubtful it works still, will update if it is still viable. Seems Un'Goro is the only place this works now and you can no longer use more than one vial per kill.

Forget what you knew or thought you knew, and forget about all the quirks and bugs listed here. Just for grins and giggles I tried some of the ""exploits"" (programming errors) in some of these posts, like the rats, Felwood oozes and slimes, and Wailing Caverns oozes - nope invalid targets. Go to Un'goro, if you check the box for ""Show Quest Objectives"" on the world map, you will find two areas in Un'goro. Plenty of Glutinous Oozes to go around, found 10 in one area no problem. Bliz culled the palaeo-beastie herds there as well, so at level, as I was, I rarely argo'd other beasties (except for the Devilsaur that stomped me into the ground - forgot about those! - mage go squishy). Also, one of the bugs, the ability to fill all 10 jars with one ooze - nope not any more: fill one bottle and the corpse despawns. Happy sliming!

This quest is fulfilled with www.aowow.org/https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=6557"">Primal Ooze. The location given in the quest map contains them rarely. Better to use these www.aowow.org/https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=6557"">spawn locations from wowhead.

The 1st one wasn't so bad due to the travel issue and a lil break in the daily grind. But this one for me, was an abandon from the gitgo. In my log it was shaded dark red n probably due to the almost impossibility to just get to it. Just didn't know it till I got to the closest place I could in Kalimdor....Shadeborrow, Feralas! No flight path from there to Un Goro n ya can't get over the mountains unless ya wanna do a ""LOT"" of runnin yer mount around the place. Was OK for the 1st quest with the little run to the slimes but, this one just wasn't worth the time for the rewards. Abandoned n hearthed back to Ironforge to continue my original quest lines. Probably Bliz snuck these 2 in for us to change over to Kalimdor for some of our levelin, once we got there. Peace!
