Description

<name>, I'm finally ready for real samples of dragon eggs! Here, take this collectronic module. It's designed to extract a dragon egg and prepare it for transport. Go back to the Rookery and use the module to collect eggs.

And don't forget to freeze them first, or they might hatch before you can collect them!

When you have enough eggs, bring them to me!

The eggs required for this quest are in the Rookery in Upper Blackrock Spire (UBRS). Simply freeze the eggs and slowly approach them and use the device provided by the quest to capture them. Getting to the eggs, however, does in fact require a raid. If your raid does not want to do your quest, just wait until they finish up and head back down to the Rookery and complete it yourself.

To clarify:
  1. This quest is part of a series. It begins with https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4726"">(Quest #4726) and the step immediately before this one is https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4734"">(Quest #4734). It continues with https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=5522"">(Quest #5522).
  2. When you complete Egg Freezing, you will receive an https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=12144"">(Item #12144). Make sure you have that with you when you go into UBRS. Use the Eggscilloscope on the eggs first and then collect them with the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=12287"" class=""qundefined icontiny"" style=""background-image: url(images/icons/tiny/inv_gizmo_goblinboombox_01.gif)"">Collectronic Module.
  3. You can do Egg Freezing and Egg Collection in the same instance, but you will need to leave to turn in Freezing to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=10267"">(NPC #10267) and then pick up Collection.

After you do this quest, the Eggscilloscope is no longer needed, and can be discarded.

Either right-click on the egg or use the Eggscilloscope in your inventory to freeze the egg. Then use the Collectronic Module in your inventory (looks kinda like a black boom box) to loot the frozen egg.

This quest can (must?) be completed in a Raid.

You don't need an Eggscilloscope at level 80. You can get in range without making the eggs hatch.

To clarify what joshuamclark said, you don't need an Eggscilloscope at level 80 if you are careful of your range to the eggs. You do not have to be in a raid group (any longer?) to complete this.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but this quest chain ends with you killing https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=10432#comments Vectus who, ironically, has the occasional idle quote of:<div class=""quote"">""We await a batch of black dragon eggs from the Burning Steppes. We believe that, through their study, we will advance our knowledge dramatically.""I wish I could say ""Don't shoot the messenger, but...."" ^_~
