Vial of Hatefury Blood (10)
Lesser Infernal Stone

Description

The next components are found in Desolace, far to the west of the Barrens and even the Stonetalon Mountains.

There, chaos still reigns after the Sundering. Both your strength and cunning will be tested there--you will face creatures of hatred and also of the Burning Legion.

From the Hatefury satyr in the northeast, bring me their blood. From the lesser infernals in Mannoroc Coven, bring me a lesser infernal stone.

We will use both in the construction of your robe.

Progress

Desolace is not a kind area: naga, giants, satyr, the Burning Legion... all of those and warring centaur clans all make the land dangerous if you're not careful.

Like I said before, it will not only test your strength and cunning, but also your patience. Be wary in those lands, <name>.

Completion

Excellent, <name>. These will do nicely. I will prepare them now while you move on to your last two components. Are you ready?

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 285 experience (17 10 at max. level)

If you're a horde warlock and working on this, pickup Befouled by Satyr https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1434 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1434 also from the NPC at the kodo graveyard camp. The mobs killed in that quest are the same ones that drop the Hatefury blood. Also, the drop rate isn't great but it isn't bad either.

This quest is do-able at the time when the quest is received, I received it around level 29, but started it at level 31. The Hatefury Satyr can be found in the north east corner of Desolace, and the Lesser Infernal (https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4676 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4676) can be found by following the path south, the one that doesn't lead to the graveyard, to Feralas. Also found in that location will be Mana Eaters (needed for the Fragments of the Orb of Orahill quest (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1799 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1799) also a Warlock Quest), a few Succubi, as well as a few humanoids. The Lesser Infernal is around level 35-36, so it isn't an easy fight as it is a very tight area.

This quest was alot easier then I first thought. The drop % on the items are 5% if you take a look at wowhead, but keep in mind that alot of people have been killing these mobs without the quest which lowers the %.

Got all the blood on less then 15 kills and the infernal stone on the first kill.

At level 32 it's pretty easy to accomplish. If you can't find a demon low enough to enslave (it has to be level 34 or lower at level 32) then you can easily do the warlock ""kiting"" technique and just run while you have your instant DOTs always on. I recommend having your succubus out, also. As she won't try and tank the thing, and just add an extra attack. I killed a level 36 Infernal in about 20 seconds or so. (or so it seemed like 20 seconds.)

I solo'd a 37 lesser infernal as a 32 lock (5/5/13) for this quest. My friend (32 elemental shaman) was supposed to help, but ended up aggroing a succubus and had to kite her around. I kept CoA and Corruption on him as I could and shadowbolted twice before I realized that my blueberry was NOT going to hold up without serious help. Ended up funneling health and dotting when I could break away from my poor squishie blueberry.

This is a good quest to do with Fragments of the Orb of Orahil.

On my 31 warlock, the infernal part wasn't easy but possible. Affliction helps here too. I went with the kiting method and quickly found that the infernals will leash far too soon, so instead I tagged the 36 infernal closest to the mountain pass and ran in circles there, refreshing all of my dots. It took a while and I did use a potion, a healthstone, and sacced my VW. So don't be too afraid to do this at 31.

This quest is a good opportunity for warlocks to have a lot of fun with Enslave Demon. The large variety of satyrs in the area results in many different sets of abilities for you to control.

Your slave won't be able to hold aggro, but the satyrs are spaced out enough so your target will rarely aggro more if you Fear it, and if you do aggro more, that's what Banish is for.

Hatefury Betrayers and Felsworn don't do anything, so don't bother with them, and Rogues can stealth, which is kind of useless. Hellcallers have Immolate and Rain of Fire. Tricksters have a poison DoT. Shadowstalkers have Gouge and Backstab.

Remember that even though these abilities are on auto-cast, the slaves will use them whenever their AI tells them to, so you may need to manually click on them in order to hurry things along. Also note that since they're NPCs, their abilities can't be interrupted through damage.

Soloable at level 31.

Had to Health Funnel my Void a few times on the Lesser Infernal part. Recommend keeping dots up, although they were resisted due to the severe level difference. So if you're going to attempt to try this below 35, prepare for a long fight.
