Progress

The door to the outhouse has begun to splinter at the edges of the frame as though it has been repeatedly and incessantly tried to be forced open. It is currently locked up tight from the outside of the outhouse.

As you rattle the door, you hear a guttural moaning come from inside! Whatever is inside there, it certainly does not sound friendly.
Dalson Outhouse Key

Completion

Using the key found on the skeleton of the former Mrs. Dalson, you unlock the door to the outhouse. A bloodthirsty ghoul leaps from the outhouse, having been trapped inside for who knows how long.

It is clear by the bloodcurdling scream of the ghoul at your presence that the former Farmer Dalson is now beyond saving.

I read the book, I killed the wandering skeleton, I picked up the key, but I can't open the outhouse. Tried it twice and even went back to the book, just in case I didn't read it the first time.

Four of you posted you had problems with interacting with the Outhouse, several of you quite recently (13 days ago).

At least today, 17th Dec -07 on Earthen Ring -EU the cycle worked perfecly for me. Read diary (even clicked it again to make sure I didn't miss anything), killed Wandering Skeleton, got key, opened Outhouse. Farmer spawn, get key, loot Cabinet.

There wasn't any problems with interacting with the Outhouse.

I just finished the quest chain also, so it seems selectively bugged. Also got 10200 exp when I looted the cabinet, at level 56.

Bugged for me on Feathermoon. Read the diary, killed the Wandering Skeleton, got the key, can't interact with the outhouse.

The quest is confirmed bugged; I spoke to a GM, Blizzard is aware of it and is working on a fix.

Its still bugged for me. Got the key, but theres no blue question mark, and cant interact with it. Maybe cuz its a 70 tryin to do the quest I dont know, but its still bugged as far as I can see

Went to outhouse - Could see the blue questionmark but could not interact with it.

Level 58 rogue, read diary, killed dude, got outhouse key, still bugged. Have key, see blue question mark but cannot interact with outhouse at all.

The interaction has been fixed, I can confirm because after GM contacted me, I went and finished the quest.

Bugged on Eonar-US on 1 August 2008. Contacted a GM, who claimed that the quest is ""functioning properly"". Nonetheless, I have the key and cannot interact with the outhouse. So much for customer support...

If you can't interact with the outhouse despite having the blue question mark - then remove the key from your keyring/key bag and put it in your main bags.

The quest can then see the key properly and it should all work.

The quest pre dates the key bag and they haven't fixed the bug yet.

Just Spoke to a GM today in regards to this quest 2008-26-09

It is still bugged, and the developers are working on fixing it.

So we just have to wait and run back here after next patch :(

Ty for the 0 rating /sarcasm.

After Server restard on Wednesday (No new Patch) i could hand in the quest. So it would seem that its not a complete bug. Just try handing in every week after restart.

Tried doing this quest on October 5, 2009 in the EXACT order described above with ZERO results from the wandering skeleton. All he drops is some change and runecloth or other drops. whoop de doo.

Just tried this today at 80. I could get the key and interact with the outhouse...but i couldn't get the new key for the chest.

edit: tried it a second time (was wondering why its a repeatable quest). got the new key after my second out-house key.
