Crystal Restore (5)
Vial of Dire Water
Provided Item:
Empty Water Vial

Description

I will be able to help you, if recreating the artifact is truly what you wish to do.

To seal the pieces back together, I will need items with strong magical qualities. An enchanted thorium bar and five crystal restore... You'll also need to collect some water from what might seem an unlikely place... Find the dire pool along Eldreth Row at Dire Maul in Feralas, and fill this vial.

While you are gone, I will attempt to glean from these pages the knowledge I need to repair the damage done to the relic.

Progress

The relic must be placed in the hands of only the most trustworthy. It can not be stolen again...

Completion

Using these elements, I can fuse the fragments together... to hopefully what they once were.

Gains

The dire pool is bugged at the moment and is invisible. To fill up the vial, head to Dire Maul and go left (west) at the first fork in Eldreth Row. Keep following this to the dead end, and stand between the small green rock and the wall. You should be able to fill up the vial here even though you can't see the pool.

The directions to the pool are right on. On my server the pool was not there at first glance, however leaving the area and coming back caused it to appear. It's back against the wall directly in the middle of the corridor. If you have your back against the wall and are facing toward the long hallway, you should be able to fill up the bottle.

Also, once done, this quest becomes available to you: https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=5248 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=5248

At 57, my aggro radius was small enough that I could ride between the mobs and not have to fight any. Just watch out for the patrolling dog packs and the one ogre near the pool. Also, the pool appeared normally and was not bugged at the time.

I just wanted to add, since no one else did, that the Enchanted Thorium Bar can be bought at the Auction House, and the Crustal Restore can be awarded from a quest started by the Northern Pylon in Un 'Goro Crater. And the Vial of Dire Water no duh, can be found from a pool in Dire Maul [see other comments, thats sadly all they gave comments on] :)

I managed to get to the Dire Pool at level 56 without any encounters. Just had to clear one of the guards at the main entrance, just mount all way through, hug the walls and avoid the packs :D

The guards are not elite.

It's actually not in the instance. Just follow the directions, no problems....

Walked right up to it.

Dropped the guards and away i go.

If you've never been to Dire Maul (or have the map exposed - which can happen if you just stay on the road) then finding it will be a bit troublesome since the directions here aren't specific enough.

Directions (for Alliance): From Feathermoon Stronghold head East to the shore, then get on the road and head east.
From Thalanaar get on the road and head west, being careful about the Horde outpost near the road.

Once you get to 59,53 on the road (pretty much in the middle of Feralas), just head north. That turns into Dire Maul (the area, not the instance) and going north will lead to the ramp that will turn into Eldreth Row.

Most of the mobs outside of the instance are ogres, level 52-54.

As of patch 2.4.3, the pool is no longer invisible.
And if anyone is thinking that they need a Dire Maul group for this quest, you do not. Just travel to Dire Maul in Feralas (follow the road, it is just north of the middle part). Walk up the stone road and continue straightforward untill you reach Eldreth Row...fight your way until you reah the great wooden door guarded by two ogres. Kill them and turn left, continue left until the dead end, as of this patch the pool is visible and glowing in the distance.

First of all if u want the crystals u must first have done the quest Making Sense of It https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4321 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4321 to complete it. When its completed u will get an book called Crystal Pylon User's Manual https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11482 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11482 when u have done all that u can then go to the Northen Pylon and turn in 10 Green and 10 Yellow crystals to get 6 Crystal Restore.

I think thats all u need to know.

Did this quest yesterday and the pool was still invisible. Followed prior instructions on how to get there and when I hit the wall I just filled the vial without being able to see the pool. No problem completing it otherwise.

This step did not count towards Loremaster of Kalimdor, however, others have posted that later steps do count towards it.

This comment caused a little bit of confusion for me.
Of course, this quest does not count toward Loremaster of Kalimdor.
It is started in the Eastern Plaguelands.

Quite visible now. When you put your mouse pointer over it, you should get a tooltip identifying it as Dire Pool. Just stand by it and use the vial.

I expected to find a pool that one could stand in, similar to the moonwells in night elf settlements. Instead it looks like an ogre-sized birdbath, so hopefully that will help others recognize it when they see it.

For those like me who read the comments and didn't find the pool. It is outside the instance. It is not Dire Maul West.

To get Enchanted Thorium bar : miners can make this along with a Thorium bar and dream dust. Dream dust can be purchased at the auction house.

To get the Crystal Restore, you must go to Un'Goro crater and go inside the crystal cave at Marshal's refuge camp and speak to J.D Collie who will start you the quest chain, Crystals of power, which you need to do in order to activate the Pylons. Once you do the two quests you get making sense of it quest that lets you use the pylons. The Northern Pylon is the one you want and gather up 10 yellow crystals and 10 green crystals which will give you 6 crystal restore's, yes one more crystal that you need so you can destroy one once the quest is completed.

To get Vial of Dire water, you must go to Dire Maul, you do not need to enter the instance, just the entrance, turn left when you get to the first cross section and reach the dire pool. Just click on the Vial to fill it!

I just finished this quest and it did give me credit towards loremaster of EK. 699/700!
