Description

As a weaponsmith you'll find that more often than not, heroes and adventurers will be coming to you for gear. While the workload can be unbearable at times, the riches more than make up for the back strain and ash lung.

Oh yes, <name>, weaponsmiths are the ones with all the gold!

If you wish to join our ranks, you'll need to show me that you can make me a silver or two - I mean, show me that you've got what it takes to be the go to guy when people need superior quality weapons. Get to work!

Reward

The following spell will be cast on you:
Artisan Weaponsmith

Progress

<Ironus is busy stacking gold coins into neat little piles.>

Completion

About time! I've got customers waiting.

Give those here and pay attention. You're going to take the first step in your career as a weaponsmith.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 315 experience (18 90 at max. level)

Question: Does anyone know if you'll still have to do this quest if you were an armorsmith first, and decided to respec' after the expansion?

Awesome site, and the list of mats is very useful, thanks!

Question: How do you change from armorsmith to weaponsmith?

The plan for Massive Iron Axe, is a vendor recipe from the Axe Vendor at Nessingwary's Expedition in Stranglethorn Vale.

The plan for Moonsteel Broadsword is a vendor recipe from the sword specialist vendor in Booty Bay.

Is it possible to just buy these weapons off the AH or do I have to craft them myself? And is this quest still required in TBC?

Yeah, it's possible to just buy it of AH, when I specced Weaponsmith on my warrior I got someone else to craft the Moonsteel Broadsword for me as I didn't have that plan myself.

Hi everyone. I need some help here. I placed a ticket with the WoW GM and he sent me to Blizzard's WoW forum, for an answer to my dilema. Unfortunately, there was no answer there either.

I did the talking to Sunderfury first thing and then picked my spec. I went with special weapons crafter. I did the quest, ""The Way Of The Weaponsmith"" and I turned it in. After that, I have been unable to train for special weapons or armor crafting. I have plenty of gold for the training, the required levels for blacksmithing and experience. Both trainers have new crafting to teach me, as they are lit up. But the ""Train"" button stays grey and nothing happens when I clicked on it, naturally. I even paid the 5G to relearn my spec and all that did was leave me 5 less gold in my pocket.

Has anyone else had this happen and what do I do to progress in my blacksmithing? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer, in advance.

If you are switching from armorsmithing or relearning a weaponsmithing speciality, do not waste money on the mats as you do not have to do this quest. Just talk to Myolor Sunderfury to switch.

If you have not yet chosen any specialty, you should still have to do this quest.

I recently made the switch from Armorsmith to Weaponsmith so that I could specialize in Hammersmithing. I made this switch at skill level 375. Here is what must be done to make the change and then choose a specialization:

1) Go to the Great Forge in Ironforge and speak with the armorsmithing trainer and ask him to unlearn armorsmithing. This cost me 100 gold.

2) Speak with Myolor Sunderfury nearby, he will present you with two options one of which is to become a weaponsmith.

3) To specialize (swordsmith, hammersmith, or axesmith) you need to go to Everlook, in Winterspring. Once there enter the building with the large telescope and inside are three NPCs.

Lilith the Lithe teaches you how to become a hammersmith.

Kilram teaches you how to become an axesmith.

Seril Scourgebane teaches you how to become a swordsmith.

Speak with the one you want to and ask them to make you a specialist like them; now you have officially specialized. This means that you can go learn all of the weaponsmithing plans and specialized trainable plans that you have the skill for. To learn the high end weapons in the Burning Crusade go to Shattrath and learn them from the trainer at the forge.

Help! My BS skill is already 296 but nobody gives me this quest. I asked Sunderfury ""to know more about making weapons"" and he pointed to Coldsteel, but Coldsteel didn't show the quest. He just has a trainers icon on him when I put my mouse over.
I tried to do this quest when my skill was 225/250/275. there are several weapons I can learn from Coldsteel already. Is it a bug or I have to reach 300 just to learn weaponsmith?

Moonstones! My only hangup with this quest is the lack of Lesser Moonstones! Auction House prices are outrageous (4g each) Drop rate is terrible, had to look them up here so I could remember where to find them. Now I have to go and mine up a bunch of Tin and Iron (I can use the Iron so not ALL bad). Need 12 Lesser Moonstones, had and used 3. I guess it's not designed to be eazy but jeez!

My next gripe will be about Black Pearls. Never even seen one, now I have to find 2!

Oh well, enuff ranting...back to farming...

This quest is no longer available to players.
If you want a Lionheart Executioner, you might as well uninstall WoW because you're probably never getting one.
