Duskwing, Oh How I Hate Thee...

Find Duskwing and slay him. From the corpse, recover a Patch of Duskwing's Fur and return it to Nathanos Blightcaller.

It is said that Duskwing roams the countryside to the north of Marris Stead.

Description

Up until now, you have completed the missions I have assigned; even if not in the most timely manner.

I suppose you think that you are ready for a challenge. Yes... Yes, imbecile, perhaps you are ready for a more involved set of missions.

The albino demon bat, Duskwing, roams the countryside just north of here. Track him down and destroy him. Return to me with a patch of his white fur and you shall be rewarded.

You can choose one of these awards:
Duskwing Gloves
Duskwing Mantle
Also, you get: 90

I would not recommend that you take on this challenge alone, <class>.

Completion

Excellent work, imbecile. I shall fashion this fur into something you can use.

I've seen the bat north of the Crown Guard Tower, around 40, 70.

As of 2.3 Duskwing is now non-elite. very easily solo'd now.
And as far as i know he wanders west to east and back north of Crown Guard Tower.

Duskwing himself has about 4.5k health and does a 5 second AoE silence.

I spent a LONG time running around spamming the ""/target duskwing"" macro looking for this guy. Searched the whole area many times. You'd think something that big and slow would be easier to find. Must have been recently killed when I was looking...

30,64 is were I found him at last...

When you're using Blizzards internal quest objective pointer (that came with Patch 3.3.0+), it does point that it can only be found around 24,58 and gives no area around it. I don't deem it impossible that you find it there, but the area in which he can be found is apparently a lot bigger than Blizzard indicated. Is this their way to keep quests challenging despite that pointer feature?

I just tried picking up this quest but Nathanos Blightcaller wouldn't hand it to me.

I've completed The Ranger Lord's Behest, but Nathanos Blightcaller now only offers To Kill With Purpose and Un-Life's Little Annoyances...

Did this chain get removed or am I missing another quest I need to complete before this one will be available?

24,62 is where I found him. I actually was alt+tabbing between WoW and WoWhead, and when i went back to the game, I saw a huge ass shadow, and he was flying right above me.

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.The quest is still in the game and can still be completed.

I'm at Dustwing's loc, he's flying around and I cannot hit him, he is out of range. How the heck do I kill this thing if it is constantly out of range? Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated

In regard to the Dustwing quest; Sometimes I am such a newb....didn't see the little icon next to the quest. Once I saw that, I figured it out...sometimes it pays to actually read the quests you accept. ROFL

This quest can currently not be completed. I found a stump that I was eventually able to jump up on with my mount, dismount and then wait for him. But, it wasn't high enough to target him. There are high areas around, but not in his path.

This was while using a hunter, by the way.
