  •
Defeat Drek'thar.

Description

The Explorers' League believes there are artifacts in Alterac Valley, but the Frostwolf orcs won't let us explore. We can't allow the Horde to stop our scholarly pursuits! Defeat the Frostwolf general, Drek'Thar. With him dead, the orcs will lose their edge.

Drek'Thar is in Frostwolf Keep, in the south of Alterac Valley. Vanquish him, and then return to me.

With the new version of AV, this quest has become a huge pain to complete. Now most players seem content to run to the middle of the map and just have a huge battle while a few of the stragglers handle towers and bunkers. If you planned on getting one of the items this quest leads to at 51 you may want to make other plans.

It may be difficult for horde, but god, to even get Alliance to organize made me lose 135 IQ and my friend quit for everquest.

It may be a bit of an uphill battle but the rewards at the end are very worth it.

This quest is completed simply by winning an AV in any manner. Drek does not have to physically be killed.

One of several ""scaling"" quests which grants more exp as you level up, instead of less.

For example, most quests are red at one point, turn orange, yellow, green and then eventually gray as you outlevel it, and slowly decreasing the amount of exp you earn. This quest starts out yellow, and remains that color no matter what level you are. As such, it grants a gradually increasing amount of exp depending on what level you turn it in which is seemingly based on the amount of exp a ""typical"" yellow quest at that level would give.

12720 exp @ level 51 with the 20% heirloom exp bonus
13680 exp @ level 53

Grants the same amount of exp/gold as the daily BG quest.
