Travel south and check on Prospector Remtravel.

Description

What an honor it was when Master Greywhisker assigned me to work under the guidance of the great Prospector Remtravel. At the academy in Ironforge everyone knew of Remtravel's great discoveries.

But the prospector is rather... um... oblivious ...to his surroundings.

We had uncovered evidence of a great society. Horrible golems sprang forth from the ground and overran the site. Remtravel never seemed to notice. I ran back to Auberdine for help.

Please travel south and see if the prospector is okay!

Completion

Hollee. is that you? I need some help chiseling this stone. Hand me my stone brush, I think I see something.

Hey, you're not Hollee! Don't suppose you've seen my stone brush?

Never mind that now! I promised the League I'd send the mysterious fossil I found. Where did Hollee go?

So much work to be done! Now where is that mysterious fossil... and my brush... and Hollee...

And who are you... 'tis no matter, so long as you're here to help.

Warning to people before you start, heads up:

I just attempted this with my level 24 shaman (morning of 7/25/2008), but I didn't pay attention to his health enough while I was killing the golems, so he died. I didn't think that would be a problem, but Hollee is not giving me the quest again, so apparently if you fail this the first time you try it, that's it for you. Anyone else have feedback on that?

The quest doesnt actually end at Prospector Remtravel. You turn it in to Hollee back in Auberdine.

Lvl 19 Hunter with lvl 19 Nightsaber pet, soloed. Cleared the first 5 golems before accepting. Then accepted the quest. Made sure I kept any and all aggro off of the prospector. He dies fast so watch his health. Take bandages for you and him. Also eat between each fight even if you only are down 50 health. Max your health for the next fight.

If he dies, you can get it again. All you need to do is abandon it in your quest log and wait for the Prospector to respawn. Don't go back to the town. Just wait right there by the golems where you got the escort quest the first time.

Soloable as a lvl 18 hunter--just clear the camp beforehand and keep the aggro off him and on you and your pet. Don't miss the chest of goodies up the hill on the southwest edge of the camp.

If you are going for Loremaster of Kalimdor make sure you do the pre-quest Trouble in Darkshore? If you fail to do so, you WILL NOT be able to go back and do it. When your adding up all those quests for loremaster you can't afford to lose a freebie like this one.

Quest name is likely a reference to the movie The Absent Minded Professor.
