Rite of Wisdom

Travel to Red Rocks east of Thunder Bluff and speak with the Ancestral Spirit.

Description

To gain acceptance amongst the elders of Thunder Bluff you must next complete the Rite of Wisdom.

Now that you have passed the Rite of Vision, the ancestral spirits of Red Rocks will give you the blessing of our ancestors. Only those who have drunk from the Water of Seers can gain the blessing.

Travel east of Thunder Bluff, to Red Rocks and seek out the Ancestral Spirit, <name>.

Completion

You have shown great diligence in your yearning to pass the Rites of the Earthmother, <name>.

We, the Ancestral Spirits, represent the mighty tauren who gave their lives bravely to found and protect our great city of Thunder Bluff. I hereby pass the duty of that protection over to you.

You have passed the Rite of Wisdom, young <class>. Enter Thunder Bluff with pride.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 850 experience (5 10 at max. level)
  • 250 Reputation with Thunder Bluff

You don't need to follow the ghost wolf, you can go directly to the Ancestral Spirit at 61, 21.

The spirit is surrounded by Bristlebacks. You can pick up the quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=833 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=833 : A Sacred Burial at 60,25 and do that quest while working your way to the spirit.

When you accept this quest, you receive a 30 minute Mark of the Wild buff.

tried doing this quest on my lvl 6. all you have to do is talk to the spirit so you can just run in and talk to him instead of taking out all the guys.I don't see how that's possible. See the screenshot I submitted - he's surrounded by level 9 and 10 Bristleback Interlopers.

As per the previous post, there's an NPC at 60.0, 25.5 - Lorekeeper Raintotem - who gives you a quest to kill 8 Bristleback Interlopers, so this is a great quest to pick up on your way to do this one. See my screenshot on https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=833 the page for that quest for what he looks like.

The Bristleback Interlopers are fairly closely packed near the spirit, and they attempt to run away at low health, so some sort of instant cast spell or stun effect is a must here if you can't handle mobs.

Make sure to pick up the quest A Sacred Burial.

Ignore the path heading into the grounds. Instead clear a path to the mountain. Travel along the mountain until you are in back of the burial grounds. There is a small path leading to the spirit ancestor. You'll be picking off enemies along the way. But they won't be as tightly packed as fighting your way into camp.

The bristlebacks run so save a ranged weapon shot or magic spell for last. You don't want to aggro the whole camp.

Does anyone else find this a disappointment?

Conclusion to all your rites is to just go and talk to one of your ancestors. It is an honour of course but even the quest turn in text comes out as lame.

I had hoped for some noble task to be completed or even a short story. Something glorious like Blizzard usually does to endings of quest chains like this one.

He is not even hard to get to, all you need to do is kill 2-4 Bristlebarks and you are there.

i was able to pick this quest up it is infact still in game.
