After much math i have found out exactly what BASE materials are required to get your thunderfury. (This instructable assumes you are a miner of at least skill lvl 300)

1. you will need to buy 30 elemental flux's from vendors
2. you will need 10 fiery cores from various mobs in MC
3. you will need to get the pattern from the boss by the technicians in BWL so you can smelt the elementium ( technicians will be mentioned later on)

Now for the more time consuming parts.

1. you must kill Garr in molten core approximately 25 times. this will get you one of the bindings of the windseeker to start the whole chain.
2. you must kill Baron Geddon approximately 33 times. this will get you the other bindings of the windseeker
3. You will need to mine just about 1000 thorium veins (big or small, ooze covered or not) to get 100 arcane crystals and enough ores for 100 thorium bars.
4.Kill about 140 of the technicians in BWL to get 10 of the ingots.

Back to quicker steps, but these ones !MUST BE DONE LAST!

1. Smelt all of your thorium ore into 100 thorium bars. easy peasy.
2. Xmute all of your thorium bars and arcane crystals into arcanite bars (you may need more than one person to do this Xmute, I'm not sure if there's still a cooldown on this Xmute).
3. use the pattern you got from the boss by the technicians, as previously mentioned, to smelt ALL of your Arcanite bars with the cores, ingots, and flux's you bought/got previously into 10 enchanted elementium bars.
4. Finally, you must kill Ragnaros in the molten core to receive the FINAL piece to your quest.
5. Go turn in your quest and have the guy summon thunderaan, he should be soloable as a lvl 80+. once you kill him, pick up the blade, and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker will be in your hands, enjoy it.

If this tutorial has any mistakes please mention it so that the WoW community may still use it to their advantage. Otherwise, enjoy your Thunderfury :)

Doing it last just means you don't have to carry it around in your bags (or store it in your bank) for months and months while you obtain all the other necessary bit and bobs.

Everytime I approach Highlord Demitrian he goes ""What can I do for you?"" as if he doesn't know that I've kill Baron Geddon 50 times, and I stare hopelessly at the 7 Enchanted Elementium Bars in my inventory, only to increase little by little every time I circle Silithus. As I exit the window and prepare to farm once again, the little bugger goes ""Seeyah later"" as if he knows I'll be back within 10 minutes. ""Well,"" I tell myself, ""maybe I'll have better luck next tuesday."" that next tuesday I come back... ""You... need something?""

There are three time consuming parts to this legendary. I think the obvious for most of us are the halves, [item=18563] off of [npc=12056] and [item=18564] off of [npc=12057]. The longest effort for me was the half off of [npc=12057]. It took me, on a semi-regular weekly endeavor, about 22 months to get the [npc=12057] half after I obtained the half off of [npc=12056].

The next time-consuming item is the [item=12363]. You will need 100 x [item=12363] along with 100 x [item=12359] to use [spell=17187] into a [item=12360]. Obtaining the [item=10620] is trivial nowadays as the ore isn't sort after as it was back in the day and easy to obtain especially now with higher level characters and the ability to fly in the ore bearing zones. The chances of getting a [item=12363] are still low today. It would be best NOT to wait until after you get the Bindings halves but to combine your weekly trips for the halves with mining for the [item=12363]. If the effort and wait is too much you can always buy the [item=12360] in the Auction House. The price is fairly cheap nowadays. You'll be surprised to find the bars are still selling albeit at a lower price.

Next time consuming part is the [item=18562]. Only 10 are needed but it drops only in [zone=2677] from [npc=13996] and [npc=14401] and requires at least 2 people to comfortably get pass the first boss, [npc=12435]. The drop rate is also low. As an aside you can use transmorg runs through [zone=2677] as a incentive for getting any help with the first boss.

But we can count our blessings as it was even more time consuming task with this legendary when [spell=17187] was on a four (4) day timer.

There is one thing to make the time a tad more bearable is knowing that if you have a character or a friend with [skill=171] trained as a [spell=28672] the [spell=17187] will proc extra [item=12360]s. As a example I had 53 transmutes which yielded for me 64 [item=12360]s, a extra 11 bars which is 11 less [item=12363]s for me to find.

Good luck to all and patience is the key to getting this legendary.
