Blood of Morphaz

Kill Morphaz in the sunken temple of Atal'Hakkar, and return his blood to Greta Mosshoof in Felwood. The entrance to the sunken temple can be found in the Swamp of Sorrows.
Blood of Morphaz

Description

Now the last part, the second cure.

The green drake Morphaz is known to be immune to all forms of poison and disease -- many druids died to bring us this information. There is no doubt his blood is potent for our needs.

A courier from the Cenarion Circle will take the parts you have already collected while you gather the last. Summon your allies and seek out the drake's lair in the sunken temple of Atal'Hakkar. Bring his blood to Greta Mosshoof in Felwood.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Blessed Prayer Beads
Woestave
Circle of Hope
The following spell will be cast on you:
Mark of the Wild
Also, you get: 1 55

Progress

Do you have the blood of Morphaz?

Completion

You have slain Morphaz and carried his blood to us... I can hardly believe this good news!

We will combine the ingredients at once and begin healing the trees and creatures of Felwood. It will take a lifetime to undo what has happened here, but you have given us the means to do it.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 635 experience (38 10 at max. level)

Awesome, a Star Wars reference.

If you're leveling as shadowpriest, I strongly suggest taking the Shadow wand. Reasons:
1) Shadow wands benefit from Shadow Weaving,
2) You get better rings and trinkets in Outland,
3) Alternative sources of shadow wands (Scholo, Strat) are rare to find groups for (TBC).
4) Most importantly, you can get the wand pretty early, at level 50.

These quest rewards are made for leveling, not end-game pew pew. See them as such and choose your item. Every single one of them will get replaced sooner or later.

I am a shadow priest, I also went with Woestave. and wow, what a difference in damage when I use my wand now! I'm doing 120+ damage, I use to do 40-60.

If you are a shadow priest I recommend using it.

I've had 3 priests and I took a different reward on all 3. Without a doubt the trinket is the way to go; With a 2 minute cooldown I'm poppin this thing every 3rd fight or so while soloing and the increase in damage is noticable. I can see using this for quite a while.

Another thing that speaks in favor of picking the trinket is with the adding of spell damage of patch 2.3, and the possibility of using this one at the same time as Vengeance of the Illidary from the quest Overlord (Alliance) or Cruel Intentions (Horde) this actually adds up a total of 184 +damage and 410 +healing for 15 seconds until the Vengeance of the Illidary trinket runs out, and still adds 64 +damage and 190 +healing for another 5 seconds, you're very well suited in a hard pressed fight to deliver that final blow..

Considering you can get the Scrying Wand from an ulda quest line a few levels earlier:
https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=34418 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=34418
and the trinket is most likely better than whatever you are using now (luffa and carrot on a stick anyone?), were back to the trinket being the no brainer.

As a dual-spec Shadow/Holy, this becomes a toss-up, as I often end up pugging as heals. This makes the trinket attractive for the +SP. But the wand is so strong in DPS and also the +Shadow that when soloing Shadow, it is reasonable to assume that wanding to save mana will also keep you at full health!

I still think I will go with the Wand for that reason, because I have recently found a bunch of items on the AH that are of the ...""of healing"" variety. These items have nice +SP (listed in white in the item tooltip, not green) that can be acquired cheaply to have a nice SP set of you are leveling and have dual-spec.

So if you are chosing between the trinket and the wand for dual-spec, I recommend the wand since you can build that Cloth set cheap in the AH.
