Breaking the Code

Frankal Stonebridge at Bronzebeard's Encampment in Silithus wants you to recover a Hive'Zora Silithid Brain, Hive'Ashi Silithid Brain, and a Hive'Regal Silithid Brain. Return to Frankal when you have completed this task.

Description

I think I can formulate an elixir that will allow us to more readily decipher the glyphs and language of the silithid and Qiraji! What do I need? Glad you asked! I need brains! More specifically, a brain from each silithid type that inhabit the hives. Bring me brains and Rutgar's work might not be for naught.

Get a ""brain"" from each of the three hives by killing any of the elite mobs at each one. Drop rate is very high; I didn't have to kill more than 10 mobs at each place before the brain dropped.

Recommend having one other person with you, but the mobs are soloable, though difficult.

Recommend doing https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8309 Glyph Chasing and https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8306 Into the Maw of Madness in conjunction with this quest.

Once this quest and Glyph Chasing are completed, leads to https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=8314 Unraveling the Mystery.

This is the first quest I've found in the Cataclysm world to still have an awful drop rate.

This quest is stupid >.< I got so fed up with it i almost quit after killing about 30 of them, then i finally got one. Then it happend again to me on the other brains . They should really fix the drop rate...

As of 2/2/11 - I had about a 1/11 drop rate at each hive.

My drop rate was aprrox. 10/1 also. Fewer at Hive Zora and more at Hive Ashi. At Hive Royal the Silithid brain dropped from a Hive Lord. At Hive Ashi, from a Hive Swarmer. At Hize Zora, from a Hive Sister.

As of 4.1, only requires one brain, from Hive' Regal. Hive' Ashi and Hive' Zora no longer play any role in the game.

Although the quest-giver says, ""Don't wander off too far, kid. We might need you to take on another task or two,"" there are in fact no further quests at this hub.

As of now (patch 4.3) only asks to get a brain from Hive Regal and mentions that brains from other Hives were already brought by some adventurer who didn't return from Hive Regal.
