Abyssal Contacts

Bor Wildmane at Cenarion Hold in Silithus wants you to destroy an Abyssal Templar and bring him an Abyssal Crest as proof of the deed.
Abyssal Crest

Description

We've seen the Twilight's Hammer cultists performing rituals to summon powerful elemental nobles. We don't know if these are the beings the cultists worship or if they act as intermediaries to even more powerful forces. One thing is for sure: they are receiving orders from these elementals.

I want you to find a way to contact an Abyssal Templar and give it a proper beating! Nothing throws the troops in disarray like taking out the chain of command. Bring back proof while you're at it.

Reward

You will receive:
Bag of Spoils
Also, you get: 90

In order to summon an Abyssal Templar you need to collect a complete Twilight Cultist armor set. Once you do, you should be able to summon the necessary templar at one of the lesser stones found by the Twilight Cultist camps when you wear the items. The Templar doesn't aggro right away when you summon it, so you should be able to switch back to your normal armor before starting the fight.

A complete Twilight Cultist set of armor consists of a cowl, mantle, and robes. All of these items have a chance of dropping off the various Twilight Cultists at the camps, although the mantle (shoulder pieces) seem to have a lower drop rate than the other two pieces.

Because the Twilight Cultists armor do not bind when picked up, you can usually find them on the Auction House in abundance.

Also, the set dissapears upon using it to summon the bloke.
Interestlingly, the set doesn't appear to be Soulbound when you equip it.

As a small bonus in 2.3, all of the templars have lost their elite status and are now only the equivalent of a level 60 mob in Outland. No one should have any problems soloing these anymore.

Some or all parts of the set will be destroyed after the summoning has been done.

The first time I turned this in, it DID count for Kalimdor Loremaster. Will edit if subsequent turn-ins count as well, but I suspect not (that would be too kind of them).

Killed many of these and still no mantle.
The robe has dropped many times. Another BS quest that takes way longer than it should! (they obviously all wear a mantle!)

If you want to do this quest, buy the shoulders (maybe the cowl as well) at the auction house before going all the way to Silithus.

It seems like the stonecallers drop most frequently - also seems like the avengers rarely drop these armor pieces.

I don't understand. I have the quest and I'm wearing all 3 items but it still won't summon. It keeps saying, ""A thunderous voice bellows from the stone... What is this? I sense a little cultist scurrying about! Run along, vermin, or face the wrath of the lords of the council.""

Just for future questers: Every camp of twilight cultists has all THREE stones. Don't wander around the desert looking for the lesser or normal wind stone.

They're kind of set up at triangle points in each camp. Hope that helps anyone!
