Oh, how's it going, <class>? I see that you're interested in maybe gathering up food for the coming war at Ahn'Qiraj? Somehow my dad thought that it would be a good learning experience for me if I were to volunteer to help out here. Big mistake. I don't even like to eat meat.

Anyway, if you feel like it, you could bring me back a lot of roast raptor. Apparently that's what all of the soldiers are going to want.

Removed when the War Effort was completed. This was involved in the server-wide questline to open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Currently, all new servers now begin with the gates pre-opened, so even on new servers you will no longer see this quest. And soon, with Cataclysm, you will no longer see the raid zone Ahn'Qiraj. It will have been de-instanced.

On 10-16-2013, I got the quest ""The Alliance Needs Roast Raptor!"" in Arathi Basin. I hunted the raptors, found the recipe vendor, cooked the 20 Roast Raptor, went to Ironforge, and Sarah Sandwhistle is no longer there. A few philosophical questionS: Why does WoW still give out this quest ... Is it good for our soul to learn false hope? Are we meant to learn the lesson that hard work is not always rewarded? Can we now throw away all our optimism and become sceptics when anyone makes us a promiss? Thank you for the life lessons WoW, what would we do without you.

I find it nothing short of amazing that several years after the elimination of this quest, some anonymous player shares it with me on a free-to-play character within Arathi Basin. The ghost of Sarah persists....
