You need at least friendly to be able to get this quest from Anachronos The fraction is called Brood Of Nozdormu this is a very long hard quest chain requiring a very skilled raid guild to defeat many Pre Burning Crusade bosses however The Mount is no longer attainable unless you were to get the scepter on your realm and transfer to a new one and you get Brood Rep from AQ20 and AQ40 you only get a little from AQ20 bosses only but mobs in AQ40 give a good amount of rep. GL to any trying to pursue this quest chain.

It is hugely disappointing there isn't even a Feat of Strength point for completing this line and receiving the scepter. Considering the number of raids bosses and WORLD bosses you have to clear (and the crazy amount of rare/expensive mats you need) to get it, Blizzard should add one for this chain.

*edit* 4.0.3 added theFeat of Strength! called Verteran of the Shifting Sands
yay !

Going back to Anachronos was the first thing i tried doing, also went to the guy standing by the gong in silithus, but no sceptre :/ And today after having a long chat with a GM he said that the item is removed from the game and is impossible to recieve it. and the reason for this is ""preparations for Cataclysm"" .... so they are removing stuff from the chain before hand, even though the whole chain will be removed in Cata.
When i asked the GM again if he could double check he found a way to give it to me, and also found out why i hadn't gotten it in the first place. So anyone attempting this chain please dont make the same mistake as i did :)

So when you hand in the quest The Might of Kalimdor, you are supposed to speak to Anachronus and you get the sceptre, however, if you go straight to silithus and hand in the quest Treasure of the Timeless One, the ability to go and talk to Anachronus and get the sceptre disapears.

For those who claimed they did not receive the Scepter, this is what you are doing wrong.

After handing in this quest: The Might of Kalimdor, talk to Anachronos once more.

If you are revered/exalted with Brood of Nozdormu, and you've gotten the ring from said reputation faction, there will be 3 ring quests for you to choose to exchange your rings.

These 3 quests will be filling up the chatbox and therefore it is normal you don't see the prompt chatbubble to ask Anachronos to give you the scepter.

Simply scroll down, and you will see the chatbubble hiding below, click on it to talk to Anachronos and you will receive the scepter.

I just completed this questline today on Azjol-Nerub US. After you turn this in, speak to Ana again and he will have an option that will give you the scepter. There is no follow up quest from Anachronos. After this, you can head to the gate in Silithus and next to the gong is an npc in priest tier 1 who will give you the quest to get one of the four epic items.

Turned in Wrath of Neptulon and Ana didn't award me the sceptor. :-( Sever reset's in 2 hours. GM ticket is already in. Praying that it gets answered or this list part of the chain is still completable post Shattering.*crosses fingers*
