Collect 8 Bloodcap and 8 Gorishi Stings, and return to Torwa Pathfinder in Un'Goro Crater.

Description

I would ask you to help me create a toxin of sorts, to pacify a great creature living here in the crater. It is not deadly, and only the keen eyes of a <class> can hope to collect the ingredients.

You can find the bloodcap mushrooms growing within the bloodpetal sprouts all across the crater. Gorishi stings are from the insects inside and around the Slithering Scar, located in the southern part of the crater.

This quest is no where NEAR as bad as you guys are putting it out to be.. and there is alot more wasps then just 3.. if u guys circle the entire camp of the The Slithering Scar, youll see what i mean. I found this out because I decided to look for more since im not the type of person that likes to sit and just wait.. Im having more trouble finding the Boodcaps... Good Luck :)

I'm getting stings from all the bugs, not just wasps. Maybe this changed in the patch, but don't single out the wasps.

The stings were fairly simple at lvl 50.

The hard part has been finding the bloodpetals that have bloodcaps. Gatherer mod helps some but it seems to be about 1 out of 3 bloodpetals that will have a bloodcap.

Edit: 8 bloodcap out of 19 bloodpetals, fyi. Not too terrible.

Turn Ground clutter Density and Radius down to minimum in your Video Options to make this quest easier

Since Un'goro has a lot of grass/plants everywhere this means that the grass further than a couple yards around you will be invisible - so you can see the bloodpetal sprouts sticking out pretty clearly

Since they added the 'sparklies' to quest-related objects in 2.3, these will sparkle for you *only if they have a Bloodcap*. Quite convenient, you don't even have to loot plants that don't have the quest item.

Unless you plan to head into Sunken Temple for the last part of this quest line which rewards some decent blue choices, I could advise missing this quest as the drop rate on the stingers is quite poor.

23% from Wasps
11% from Workers.

So you could kill up to 50+ of these to complete this section of the chain.

The drop rate of the mushrooms is fine.

As of 3.1.1a, this does NOT, count towards Loremaster of Kalimdor, nor does it's sequel a Toxic test.
Both count towards 3000 achievment, the seeker title though.

Just thought I would note that I had tons of better luck with the stingers than with the bloodcaps so far. Took me maybe 10 Gorishi or so to get the 8 stingers (as a side note ALL of the Gorishi silithids drop the stinger, not just the wasps). For everyone who keeps saying that a sparkly bloodsprout thingy is a 100% drop for the bloodcaps, you are all wrong as of these last few patches. Even without herbalism (I'm a skinner), all of them sparkle and out of the 5 or so I've clicked, only 1 has dropped. Seeing as how large Un'Goro is, this is very disappointing.
