Description

My research has revealed a unique purpose for the prismatic shell.

Carry the shell and cast your polymorph spell on the Spitelash in Azshara. If you wait a few moments, the chaotic aura of the shell will cause them to split into several smaller clones for a few moments. Kill these clones as quickly as possible, and the shell will collect their essence.

When the shell is full, return it to me.

Very easy quest.

Polymorph the naga, and immediately run up to them. The naga will split in to anywhere from 2-5 clones. A single arcane explosion or frost nova is enough to take them all out.

Make sure you have quick reflexes as the clones run away quick, and if you're not fast you wont get all of them. Keep moving on till you kill 50 of the clones. It doesn't matter if you kill 1 or 5 clones that spawn. There is no limit.

Actually there's a much easier method!..
Simply cast a polymorph, wait 1-2 seconds, then cast a rank 1 Blizzard right ontop of the Naga.
The sheep breaks, but it still break into clones, and you kill them all every time. (Well at least I didn't miss any with this method.)

If you happen to have https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=28271 Polymorph - Turtle, do not use it for this quest. The naga never split off into turtle clones. Just use your regular sheepy polymorph.

I had good luck with, frost nova polymorph then Arcan explode or blast wave...
i much agree that your reflexs have to be top notch, i missed sevral entire sets untill i figured out a system.

After polymorphing a naga, I used a macro to catch the clones:

""/target Polymorph Clone
/cast Ice Lance""

I found this one easier than using arcane explosion. Just spam the macro when you have morphed a naga, not a single clone should escape. Good luck. :)

All you have to do is stand over the polymorphed mob until it changes back to naga form. As soon as your sheep/penguin disappears, hit Arcane Explosion. You'll get them all in one shot.

If you try to Ice Lance them individually, you'll waste time. Sometimes they split into as many as five clones, and they will die automatically after a few seconds. You'd only have time to get off three Ice Lances or so because of the global cooldown.

I got 21,400 XP doing this quest at level 77, even though it was labeled a low-level quest when I accepted it.

Also, I found it worked best to sheep the naga, wait one second or so, then start casting Blizzard right on the sheep. He'll split soon, and the clones will appear to run away, but they'll die almost as soon as they spawn.

Glad somebody mentioned that only the original polymorph works. I have three different ones and was about to give it up. Use the sheep polymorph only. Also a macro will definitely help you. This seems to work well...

/target Polymorph Clone
/use Arcane Barrage

Be sure to substitute your own attack in place of Arcane Barrage.

My method was to polymorph the naga, wait 2-3 seconds, then use Arcane Explosion. Usually got 4 clones at a time. Worked great :) Good luck!

https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=43361 Penguin glyph, auto replaces sheep by default thus the clones are https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=12826 sheep when they convert from naga to sheep. https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=61305 Black Cat, https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=61721 Rabbit, https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=28271 Turtle WILL NOT WORK.

Sad to say its 6:13pm and as Im writing this Im waiting for the world event to happen to see if this quest is going to be removed and the Pig Polymorph thus will no longer be available since the Horde are taking Azshera and its turning into a low level starting area for the horde.

If I were you I'd get this wonderful spell while you still can.

Doing the quest right now. I forgot I had the monkey glyph in; but it still works with that. They turn into a monkey, then split into sheep. Got the pig.

Release the pig!

Edit: Just in case anyone's looking, this spell is now sold by The Amazing Zanzo ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=32712"">(NPC #32712) ) in Dalaran at level 60, as of Cataclysm.
