Description

Intriguing.

Well, we might not be without hope quite yet.

Along that same coast, but to the north near Ranazjar Isle, there're night elf ruins at the bottom of the ocean. A tribe of naga, the Slitherblade, make that their home. I think that'd be our best bet.

If a scouting party went that far south, then they must've been pretty powerful. If you're gonna find Karnitol's belongings, I'd start with the more powerful naga: the tidehunters or sea witches.

Progress

No offense to whoever Nijel is, but this camp ain't the most comfortable place I've spent a night, if you know what I mean, <name>.

Completion

This is great, <name>! You found Karnitol's belongings!

Those blasted naga, always causing trouble. I think I'd rather spend my life at war with the Horde than have to go against their kind. You've done a great service to the Reclaimers.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:

This quest is a wee bit confusing because you might be thinking, like I did, that the satchel is at a location. It's not. Karnitol's Satchel is a random drop off off Slitherblade Sea Witches and Slitherblade Tidehunters. Don't bother grinding on other Slitherblade naga, only those two will yeild the satchel.

What I did was head out to Ranazjar Isle and kill Tidehunters and Sea Witches until the drop.

^^ Yup, mine dropped off a Slitherblade Sea Witch at coords (31,7). The satchel dropped after second kill.

It might be noted as of 2.3 this quest chain at this point gives you a Recovery Diver's Potion that acts like a 30 minute underwater breathing potion so now there is no need to spend money on expensive breathing potions.

I spent a good 20 minutes killing all types of nagas, trying to focus on Tidecallers and Sea Witches, and no drop. I'm giving up at this point, the drop rate appears to be *very* low.

Got the satchel to drop on first kill, so I must be ever so lucky. The quest was green to me if that counts.

The satchel dropped for me after about 10 kills. I went to Ranazjar island like the top poster mentioned and it worked very well. Sea witches and tidehunters abound.

Yikes, I think I killed a half a level's worth before it finally dropped. Got tenderized and reaquainted with my wisp side twice from the elite giant, even though I was trying to watch for him. Tough quest at 34 in my experience but worth the EPs.

If you're a rogue you can combine this with leveling your lock picking, the waters where the naga are, are littered with waterlogged footlockers.

For some reason I can't do these quests, I'm level 30, just got to Desolace because I didn't want to do STV, yet in Nijel's point there are no quests to take.

It appears that there is some phasing involved in another quest-line in the area that is causing conflict with this quest. If you have the quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=14292 The Enemy of our Enemy (or, for sure if you have completed that line up to https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=14301 Return and Report), whenever your map reads ""Ranazjar Isle"" instead of ""Slitherblade Shore"", the naga that you need to kill will phase out.

Wonder if anyone else has experienced this?

So I've gotten to the island twice now and everyone there has been wiped out. I saw them alive while I was approaching and then it was like a nuclear blast took them all out at the same time. I hate glitches and that's what I must be seeing. Grrr.

First you need to find ""Karnitol's Satchel"" which is located on ""Ranazjar Isle"". Kill Sea witches or Tidehunters on ""Ranazjar Isle"" to pick up the ""Satchel"" than return to ""Kreldig Ungor"" in ""Desolace"".....good luck.:)

Don't bother killing Myrmidons: a waste of time. I found the Tiderunners and Sea Witches just south of Ranazjar Isle.The satchel will drop from one of those naga.

The Karnitol ""Shipwreck"" is misleading which made this quest quite frustrating. At first I started to slay the Tidehunters by the ship wreckage &amp; by the ruins underwater (just a very short swim away) but the satchel is ENE (East by NorthEast) of Ranazjar Isle dropped by a Tidehunter. The Sea Witches are just a distraction but looting silver from them doesn't hurt.
