The Exorcism

Kill the Demon of the Orb, then speak with Tabetha.

Demon of the Orb slain

Description

Now that we have a summoner's orb, we must exorcise the demon within it. I can do that. That's the easy part.

You're the one who has the hard job. You're the one who has to kill the demon once it's out.

And you'll have to be quick. If you take too long then he'll jump back in the orb and we'll have to start over!

So get yourself ready. Prepare your strongest spells and keep your potions handy, and go get a friend if you have one. Because this isn't going to be pretty.

Progress

You'll have to kill that demon to remove its taint from the orb, <name>.

Completion

Nicely done, <name>! You gave that demon a lesson he won't soon forget.

He'll think twice before he sticks his ugly head back in this world, looking for the stupid mortal who beat him. Probably with friends this time. Big, scaly friends who'd want nothing more than to tear you into little <race> pieces.

I didn't scare you, did I...<name>?

Demon is a lvl 40 (Elite) I took him at lvl 40 however, with frost nova mana shield and evocation. Run mana shield all the time when mana gets low frost nova back up and run evocation as long as you can.

Yep, it's a 40 Elite and I solo'ed at 38. I'm not even a good frost spec, I'm actually aimed towards AoE grinding. As Itaru said, just frost nova and evocation can finish him off, timed with blink while he's slowed, in between instants like fire blast and CoC. 1 mana gem used, [ a mana agate too, it was a rank one gem] Didn't even use a potion, I was very pleased.

But as I was celebrating it goes ""The Exorcism failed."" and I was like omfg all over the place : (

Moral = TURN THE QUEST IN FAST

I type this as I am waiting for cooldowns to finish so I can do it again. -.-

Not too bad. Solo as 39 Frost Spec. Only had to use one Mana Gem, but I did get somewhat lucky with Frostbite and crits. Just know that you only have 3 minutes to kill him and turn in the quest, so don't waste time dancing once he's dead. ;)

Soloed it by 37 lvl frost mage. Main problem was time - quest was failed twice before i did it. Raptor, near house also makes this quest is not too easy.
You have 3 minutes to kill demon and to return quest. When demon is summoned, you have about 2:40 minutes to kill him. No loot.
Quest leads to next chain in Uldaman.

as a 40 fire spec mage i took him on my first try.make sure you have health pots with you it will help out alot. Frost trap was my best friend in this fight for sure along with bandages. i would say make sure that you kill the raptor in the back of the house first like i did so you have no other targets around.
when i was done fighting i have about 45 seconds to turn in quest.

solo'd as a 36 frost mage, took me a couple of tries but it is possible.

As a lv38 frost mage, it is quite easy: simply frostbolt-&gt; nova-&gt; bolt-&gt; blink-&gt; bolt-&gt; nova-&gt; down.

Soloed as a 40 fire mage. Did it pretty easily: Pyroblast, fireball, frost nova, scorch, scorch, fire blast, blast wave, blink, fireball and he was down.

am I first one commenting how I beat him solo as arcane?
Yes, 27/0/0 spec, level 36. I died 3 times at start and got bit frustrated since didnt got him more than to 30% and figured if I just nuke since Arcane Stability 5/5 keeps missles uninterrupted and Id have chance since he resisred a lot, no point really try kite around.

So.. Used buff food (+8sta), major healing pot, evocation, gem.. all I could and twice bandage. Cone of Cold was big key thing as he strangely didnt resist the slowing effect of that.

Went something like this: Frostbolt-Pom frostbolt-fb-nova-blink.. meh, no point write, I was very lucky to manage do it since he resisted over 50%.
(+5y am &amp; nova glyphs.. not that those were any help really)

Very easy solo as a 39 Frost mage with a few blues. Took a total of two Blizzards to down him with a frost nova to keep him in place.

Soloed at lvl36 as Fire Mage - mob was lvl40 elite and had aprox 5k health - just went on casting https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=12523 Pyroblast while keeping Mana Shield up - Forst Nova once, Blink away, Evocation - and again - it died before the cooldown on Frost Nova ended.

Easy solo as a level 38 fire spec. Only buffs were Arcane Intellect, Ice Armor, Mana Shield, Rumsey Rum Black Label.

My crit rating is hovering around 15% for fire spells.

Pyroblast, Fireball, Frost Nova (backed off), Fireball, Fireball, Fireball.

Dead.

Took zero damage as Mana Shield absorbed the only shot he was able to take on me. Had 1:50 remaining to hand it in.
