Seeing What Happens

Bring the miniature platinum discs to the gates of Uldum in Tanaris and look for clues as to the connection between the two.
Miniature Platinum Discs
Provided Item:
Miniature Platinum Discs

Description

Sage Truthseeker and I would like you to take the miniature discs you found to the sealed gates of Uldum. We... we aren't sure what will happen when you do this.

This sounds risky, sure, we acknowledge that. It might, however, do nothing. You might need to use the discs on something. Perhaps the doors unlock when you have the discs in your possession. Be open to try anything, and be ready for anything to happen.

Learn what you can, then return to me. We will have much to discuss.

Progress

This familiar looking pedestal sticks out of the hot sand. Perhaps there is something to its presence here...

Completion

As you touch the pedestal, the miniature discs from Uldaman hum and glow in your backpack. A familiar feeling tingle washes over your hands, as the image of another Stone Watcher springs to life in front of the gates of Uldum.

"Salutations. I am a guardian of entry. The discs that have been used for access are missing the correct entry discs, the Plates of Uldum. Please incorporate these plates with the disc structure and repeat your access sequencing. Thank you."

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 470 experience (28 20 at max. level)
  • 250 Reputation with Thunder Bluff

This quest actually does end in TB, as far as I can tell anyway.

Once you've gone to Uldum and completed the tasks of clicking on the pedestal, then speaking to the apparition guardian, and clicking on the pedestal again, the discs are returned to you. You are then directed to return to Nara Wildmane in TB, who then directs you back to Sage Truthseeker, (also in TB), to turn in what is now named ""A Future Task"".

You receive 4700 XP, 250 rep with TB, and 2g, 20s.

The easiest way to do this quest is to approach the pedestal in a counter-clockwise manner. Hug the wall until you see a crevice in the wall. You can force your way through it with your mount. Continue to hug the wall and you can access the pedestal without fighting the elite mobs.

(summary)
Four things:
1.) Hug wall
2.) go counterclockwise
3.) watch out for the one patrol
4.) be high enough level to not aggro the mobs.

It leads to blue rewards and lots of exp--well worth it!

done as lvl 52 SPriest
i had to kill only one of the Raging Dune Smasher (49 Elite), the one who stands just near the piedestal, which was not very difficult.

as per 2.4.2 patch, now it gives 6800 XP and 250 reputation with Thunder Bluff.

after complete the quest, you get ""The Stone Watcher"" https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2954 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2954

Easiest way to do this quest is to approach Uldam from the east. There's a small path that leads right to the pedestal around 39.6, 79.0.

Finish the quest at the base, but don't leave -- talk to the ghost that appears to complete the follow up quest. After that, talk to the base again to complete the quest and then head back to Thunder Bluff to pick up your reward.

Was able to finish this quest as a 46 Warrior without aggoring anything.

Just go to that place in the desert that hasn't been opened in years which is guarded by elites and use these mysterious discs found guarded in a dungeon.

We don't know what will happen but I'm sure it will be *fine*!

Honestly. What's the worst that could happen? >_>
