This quest is a pain. Like he said, VERY bad drop rate, and the murlocs are very annoying. They are throwers, so its bad for casters. Also, they throw nets at you, and walk backward, preventing non-casters to hit them. Like all kind of murlocs, they run away and lure 90,000 more murlocs to attack you when they have low health. I'd suggest you do this quest in a group (preferably with friends or people who arent on the quest - so you will get all quest items :P) to end it as soon as possible. Better bring some underwater breathing potions or a warlock if you plan to kill the murlocs underwater. There are some on the shore, but you may have to wait long for respawn. I personally dropped that quest - did it only on my main.

There is another camp of murlocs south along the coast from the ship where you first see them, and its usually less crowded.

and above all it takes a looong time until they respawn! i got 4 immediately, then i killed like 10 more to get the last one. didn't go in other camps though.

There is another underwater murloc camp that drops inglots in the northeast corner of wetlands (around 27,19 thottbot coordinates). There the droprate rate is very decent and there are enough murloc to kill without waiting. Note that all Murloc Raider may drop Inglot Bars but not another species of murlocs will.

All in all, I had to kill about 30 murlocs to complete this quest. It was frustrating because I killed about 20 murlocs before I got even one bar, and then after I got the first one I finished the quest in like 5 kills. I got all of my bars at the camp to the south at loc 10, 70. The other murlocs closer to the wrecked boat didn't drop any for me at all, so if you are having trouble, maybe try the camp down south, seemed to be the only place they would drop for me.

it took me about 25-35 minutes it was annoying... the mulocs will jump you if you do anything wrong...have a warlock or water breathing potion....it will annoy you this quest wont take a long time at all unless you die...i reccomend lvling until the quest is green this way when they jump you it will be a lower rate chance of them killing you.

if you are a warrior, try to align this (and the preceeding) quest with Iron Coral: https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1708s https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1708s

You will be fighting the exact same annoying murlocs in the exact same place.

Go to the South to find Murlocs Raiders. Drop rate is pretty high (33%).
Don't even loose your time going to the North camps as there is nothing there.

At the very least, be aware that the rare mob Sludginn appears on the hill between the two murloc clusters.

You all forgot the most fun part of this quest as the Murlocs run by the old WoW respawn timer ( 15 Min.+ ) and not the Outlands one.

So prepare for a long wait if you don't want to dive and kill.

I did this as a 27 frost mage and it was quite difficult as these murlocs seem to have a high frost resistance, like most murlocs apparently. Plus, as everyone has said, the drop rate is horrendus. I spent 45 minutes doing this quest, the last 30 being the search for the last ONE.

Found some of these off the coast, 10,66 but didn't have a lot of luck with the drop rate. I had about a 25% drop rate, if that. Took me over 30 mins to get all the ingots.

If you're a shadow priest having trouble with murlocs fleeing and pulling others, try using mind soothe so it's in the vicinity of your mind flay before it goes below 10% hp.

if your a druid doing this use entangling roots b4 the murlock get below 10% hp and use starfire will usually kill them without them running and getting a small army.

Took me about 20 Murlocs to get my Ingots... I was either lucky, or they decided to increase the drop rate again...

Today, November 6, 2011 (Patch 4.2.2), I was passing through Wetlands and saw the yellow exclamation mark for this quest with my level 61 Shaman. I remembered the quest from the past, but took it, even though I had previously finished all the quests and the exploration achievements for the zone. After killing the few murlocs [even fewer than I remembered] several times each - and not getting a single ingot - I checked Wowhead and saw that this quest was marked obsolete. The turn-in guy (Glorin Steelbrow) is still in the Inn, and still expecting the ingots from me - hope he's not holding his breath while he waits. lol

I just completed this quest in under 3mins, I found that the Blugill raider's near the Harbour do not drop the 'lightforge Ingot' but the Bluegill raider's to the north of the map +- [28;16] (in the water) do drop without fail.
