Sven's Revenge

Go to Sven's Farm and find what was buried behind the old stump.

Description

I used to work one of the farms to the southeast...until Dark Riders from Deadwind Pass descended upon my farm and slaughtered my family when I was away!

When I returned I saw a shadowy figure skulking near my barn, burying something. He fled before I could catch him, and I couldn't linger for I was hot on the heels of the Dark Riders. So I never discovered what was hidden.

If you can find what that shadowy figure buried, I would be grateful. The hiding spot is behind the old stump near my barn.

Completion

A mound of dirt is here, hastily piled up as if someone had need of hiding something...without much time to do it.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 100 experience (6 at max. level)
  • 75 Reputation with Stormwind

You should look for a small dirt at 49, 78 - Duskwood.
It's not the SOUTH farm from Sven (even though the quest says so). It's south east, Yorgen Farmstead.

This also begins a very long series that ends up having you kill Morbent Fel. This series alone can level you and get some good Loot along the way.

49.9, 77.7 exact position for me. The dirt is on the eastern side of the stump.

If you go around, down toward Stranglethorn, you can get up on top of the hills that border the farmstead to the south. If you carefully get closer and closer on the hills, you'll find yourself on a few very good vantage points that will allow you to watch the Defias dudes from a safe distance. They patrol here and there, but usually in a pattern, so you can figure out which ones to pull and when. Then it's simply a matter of dropping down close enough and doing it. I pulled to the south, by the big tree, and it was far enough away to where I could kill the guy and not worry about adds.

I did it pulling only one nightblade, who was literally on top of the dirt pile. The other ones were along the wall of the house, far enough away to not notice me as I drabbed the thing from the dirt pile. Like the above post said, creep closer and closer to the dirt from the angle farthest away from the other mobs and you should be able to get within clicking distance without aggroing the rest of them.

As a level 24 warrior, I approached the dirt pile from the right hand house (assuming you are facing the dirt pile). I killed the stealthing one closest to the house, and then walked near the enchanter to aggro her. Walking back around the house, I line of sighted her, and she ran around the corner. At this point, I killed her, area pulled the mob standing right on the dirt pile, killed him, and finished the quest with no chance of any interruption.

It works very well.

The fastest way to get to Sven, is fly to Westfall then run to the East over the river

Since patch 2.3 this quest is much easier. The number of mobs has been greatly reduced. I killed one Defias Night Blade to clear the way. Best to run the ridge around the back of the farm and go in that way. Very much a soloable quest now.

I did this as a 24 mage, and I had some problems with the caster standing in the stable just to the left, our the dirt pound.
Watch out for her!

When you come down to do this quest, make sure you duck south on the road into Stranglethorn Vale and then cut east to the Rebel Camp. There's a flight point. Makes getting around this area much easier.

As someone posted above, if you have the Westfall flight point, you can fly from the Rebel Camp to there and run east to Sven.

This is one of the most entertaining questline in the history of WoW, Duskwood is a very spooky place, filled with undead, worgen's and what so ever, I highly recommand starting this quest.

Sven's family was slaughtered by Dark Riders as told by https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=2560 Jitters' Completed Journal, which you will find along this quest chain.

It refers to the events that happen shortly after Jitters discovers the Scythe of Elune. Velinde Starsong was granted this scythe as a gift from Elune, allowing her to draw worgen into the world by channeling the scythe's energy, which she used to fight demons in Felwood and Ashenvale. However, after some time she realised that additional worgen were being brought to Azeroth without her intervention.

Velinde sought Arugal (a man who had also summoned Worgen) for assistance, and went missing, presumably in Roland's Doom cave at Duskwood. Jitters picked up the weapon there, triggering its effect of summoning

In an attempt to rid himself of the worgens' chase, he disposed of the scythe in https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=311 Sven Yorgen's farmstead, which brought the Dark Riders, attempting to find the scythe and take it back to Karazhan. Whether they found it or not is still unknown.

Jitters is the only surviving witness of these events. The current location of the scythe may finally be uncovered with the Cataclysm expansion.

I did this as a 21 rogue. I stealthed and sapped the guy standing on the mound of dirt, grabbed the book, and...died. I aggroed 2 mages and one other guy trying to get out, but I sprinted far enough away to safely rez before the poisons killed me.

Died twice as a lvl 21 mage to get this. I want this quest to burn in eternal damnation for the rest of eternity.
