Take note that you MUST be hated with Booty Bay in order to get this quest. There is a bug/exploit you can do to get to Friendly with Bloodsail and still be friendly with Booty Bay, but you will be unable to get this quest.

Dont waste your time on the exploit. But get this hat, its very worth it for the novelty! Dont be afraid of goblin rep. You can reobtain that within hours with just about 200 gold by buying cloth and turning it in (or farm instances for it)

For those that looked for more then just basic info on the quest Avast Ye, Admiral!

I have 2 warnings you should heed.

1. On the way to the Inn is nasty business, many times along the way there are 'check points' where your presence will spawn bruisers who will immediatly aggro you. If you kill them, then try to eat, or even just take a breather, they will spawn ontop of you again, within a window of oh, lets say 5 seconds. With that in mind you need to KEEP MOVING.

2. You won't just get aggro from the Bruisers, I was also attacked by other NPCS on the way up.

I was able to solo this but I died several times. You can spirit rez but most locations bring you right into combat. The one spot I found you could rez in without immediate aggro was the clear spot in the Inn, where there are 2 rooms , right after the bridge, and right before going up to a bruiser room and your intended targets.

If you have died in the general area, and would like a place to not get instant aggro, this is it.

The targets themselves were a joke, the bruisers are what is fierce. Remember keep in melee range, those guns will drop you in the ocean, send you to more bruisers. Very deadly.

I recommend you bring pots and sat food because if your going to solo this every bit helps.

I soloed this quest at level 70 as a mage and it wasn't too bad to be honest. There is a VERY easy way to get up to the top of the inn. However, it requires you to die. What I did was I swam under the area next to the bank, directly under the inn, and aggroed some bruisers. They killed me. I was then able to rez next to the horde flight master, who is a few feet away from the targets of this quest. However, there is one bruiser there when you spawn so be ready to take him out immediately. Remember to avoid AOE if you are alliance so you don't aggro the flight master :). I polymorphed the bruiser, bandaged and evocated, and took him out. Make sure to stay to the BAKC of the platform, because if you get too close to the front you might aggro a bruiser down below who will shoot you off. I get close enough to shoot Seahorn first and took him down with two frostbolts and a fireblast. He summoned two bruisers. I had to polymorph one and take them down one by one. This was the hardest part. If you die here, it's OK - just run back to your body. I then attacked Revilgaz, but due to LOS issues I actually had to walk onto his platform, so I aggroed one bruiser in addition to him. I took him out, then backed up and took out the bruiser. After this simply jump off the platform into the sea and swim to your freedom! Piece of cake!

I'm just poiting out when your hated with a fraction, and you gain rep, the bars go right - not left. We had alot of confusion about that last night. Anyways if you quested in booty bay you are probably hated with the bloodsails. The only hard part is gettin out of hated which take on average around 16k rep, depeneding on how much quests you did in BB. After hated rep is a breeze! For hostie, unfriendly, neutral, and friendly you only need a total of 12k rep. Once you have you rep get over to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2545#starts ""Pretty Boy"" Duncan and accept he quest he as to offer. It will make you head out South to a ship where you will recieve the full blood sail unform (excluding hat). Then for the hat, title, and achivement (feat of strength) you have to go and kill to easy mobs in BB.

I strongly recommend that if you intend to complete the lore master achievements you do them BEFORE doing this achiement. It greatly reduces the amount of quests available. It is still possible to do loremaster after doing this achievement (thats how i did it) but it would be alot easier to do it first.

Ever since I found out you could get quests from those pirates back in vanilla I've wanted to do it, but I'd done Booty Bay quests on all my characters so their Bloodsail rep was shot. Rolled a rogue recently and specifically avoided BB for this reason. Just got the achievement yesterday, less than 2 hours of killing bruisers (human).

I found the best spot for this, at least for a rogue/druid, to be in front of the big building near the Ratchet boat, right by the main doorway where all the crates and barrels are. Spam stealth/prowl as soon as you are about to kill the last bruiser on you, then jump on the crates/barrels and up to the rooftop where you can safely eat/bandage.

300g of silk cloth later and I was back to at least neutral with every goblin faction. I laughed at the ""try to get some sleep"" comment in the achievement, took me at lot longer to do all the other rep grinds I've done so far, but I guess they assume you did all the quests in Booty Bay while leveling.

If after you get your Bloodsail Admiral Title and want to get back your lost goblin reputations. Go to Rumsen Fizzlebrack at 50,25 in tanaris. Each turn in of 40 Mageweave and 4 Strong Flux will slowly raise your reputation back up, each turn in grants you 500 honor for Gadgetzan and -500 for Bloodsail Buccaneers. Or you could kill bloodsail npc's along the southern coast of STV. Your choice.

Hello everyone! I completed this the 31st of December 2010, I know this may seem somewhat impossible with Cataclysm but I had an edge, the Booty Bay Bruisers may seem unbeatable but they have one noticeable flaw, it is not at all a glitch in the game. On New Years Eve, they are drunk! They won't fight you or bother you. ""Hey, neither would I if I was completely smashed!"" However some aren't drunk and still patrol some area's So please, be careful of those guys! I was hated with the Bloodsails and just about Honored with Booty Bay, after a couple of hours of grinding, success had occurred! I had some friend's help me at the end and it was all worth it! So, do I believe this is worth the effort? Yes I do! I hope my idea works for the rest of you like it did for my friends and I! I wish the best of luck to all of you World of Warcraft players! Thank you So much for reading what I had to say! Best wishes, Clox a.k.a. WestClox.

Edit:
Smart is what I think of myself after figuring out that drunk gaurds don't fight lol. Please note that I don't intend to ""Toot my own horn"". I've also added a picture of myself on one of the beautiful Bloodsail Sailing Ship's.

An easy way for ranged engineers, I found, is to dismount high in the air and use parachute. Then, shoot the two while you float down. Then proceed to be shot away by the guards, who will think you are still flying. Once in the water, you can just swim away until out of fighting distance. Best way to not die, I've found.

Otherwise, a way to do this without dying is attacking them one by one. They only have a few thousand hp each, so they die pretty fast. Though, so will you, so go all out!

THAT WAS CRAZY lol.... I swooped in down on those two and aoe'd them down in one move...... THEN a Booty Bay Bruiser hit me and knocked me down into the water...... I swam away out of combat and lived! Soooooo I recommend standing facing away from the water so that they will knock you in too.

I had this quest completed before the pre-Cataclysm patch went in changing ""everything"" in the game. But I was holding on to it because I was farming the goblin in the Badlands and the one in Newman's Landing to try and get to capped Revered so I could turn the quest in for Exalted.

Now my issue is.. I have the quest, but it isn't labeled complete anymore, though all three requirements for the quest's completion are in place, but I'm no longer Hated by Booty Bay. Is being hated a requirement to turn the quest in, even if you've killed both guys and are Friendly or above with the Buccaneers?

Is this quest even possible anymore? I have farmed the rep but when I go to the ships they are suppose to be on the ships are empty.

*EDIT: Apparently I was phased from the ZG chain quests. Once I completed that I was able to go and do the pirate quests again.

I started to grind Bloodsail rep this New Years....when a handy tweet from Blizzard informed me that the Booty Bay bruisers were all sleeping off hangovers.

A short trip to BB later, I found that the town was indeed unprotected as the bouncers all dozed away (you cant even aggro them awake). This unconscious state lasted for at least 5hours during which time I wrought havoc to the citizens of BB, killing every NPC in sight....especially the ones worth 25+ rep!

On a relatively quiet Bronzebeard night when all other Sane people were off partying I was able to solo my way through most of Hated and have spent the subsequent days in Faldirs Cove solo-ing rep at around 1000/hr. I'm finally Friendly and while waiting for the less frequent spawns of the captain and first mate fitted in some round trips to the two local Ravenholdt grinding sites and also quickly worked that up to 11999/12000 Honored.

Unfortunately as a vanilla character who completed Loremaster & Exalted after the Shattering I've had to completely nuke my goblin rep from 999/1000 Exalted on all factions down to 0 of Hated...so getting those back will mean even more 'fun'.

Therefore, if you can bear to wait, try grinding rep next New Years!

Insanity - here I come!

Alot of people are complaining about getting to where these npc's are while taking crazy resistance from the bruisers. I knew there had to be a way around it so i tried a different approach. Heres a tip on how to kill Fleet Master Seahorn and Baron Revilgaz at the same time, without moving a single step and importantly without aggroing anything or stepping foot inside the inn. On the platform where Baron is running around theres a mast that extends out from him. If u have a mount you can fly down onto this mast, dismount and be out of agro-range. If you have any sort of range attacking ability (im a rogue so i threw knives at him) you can range attack Baron and he'll come to you without aggroing any 85 bruisers. He'll go down in 1 hit or 2 at most. Once hes dead look directly down below you a little to the left you'll see Seahorn, you can also range attack him from the same very spot youre at. Range attack away til hes dead...now mount up and head back to fleetmaster for your hat and achievement.

easy peasy.

For those who did the PHASED grind, and then realized that Fleet Master Firallon is also PHASED and thus cannot give you the Avast, Ye Admiral quest, he is still available.

He is just outside Booty Bay, on the boat near the big goblin statue, on a ship. Not only that, but also the phased versions of Fleet Master Seahorn & Baron Revilgaz count toward the quest!

Thank you to Playfellow for pointing this out on the Bloodsail Buccaneers page.

I did it. Today I earned the coveted https://vanillawowdb.com/?title=144 Bloodsail Admiral title. I did the other quest too, https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=9272 Dressing the Part, that awards the pirate clothes. What's the point of having the awesome hat if you're not going to have the whole outfit? Lol, anyway, I had a heckuva time killing https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2496 Baron Revilgaz as a level 81 demonology warlock with crappy gear, lol. Many, many kills and 22+ gold worth of repairs later I finally figured out how to off him: I hovered on my mount above Revilgaz just out of range of the bruisers, dismounted mid-air, cast https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=110913 Dark Bargain, then https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=172 Corruption then spammed https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=77799 Fel Flame as much as I could with the few remaining seconds left. Ta-da! Revilgaz a goner, that sorry sucker. Sarelimar a newly-minted Bloodsail Admiral.

For tips on the grind, I recommend going the Faldir's Cove route. http://enviitheinsane.com/insane-in-the-membrane/bloodsail-buccaneers/ Here is a great guide for tips on boosting your Bloodsail Buccaneer rep, no matter what your goals are. Note: this probably goes without saying but if you can one-shot the NPCs the respawn timer goes off that much sooner. Just sayin'.

I should also say that at this time I'm not going for the Insane title, although that's not completely off the table for me. I really just wanted the Bloodsail title, the outfit and the parrot. I don't go to Booty Bay, or Ratchet, or Gadgetzan, or Everlook, ever. Any http://onepieceofficial.com/ One Piece fans out there? Then you understand. :D
