The Dread Citadel - Naxxramas

Additional requirements to obtain this quest:
  • Your reputation with Argent Dawn must be at least Exalted
Archmage Angela Dosantos at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands will grant you Arcane Cloaking at no cost. You must be Exalted with the Argent Dawn.

Description

In the thick of Plaguewood lies the entrance to the dread citadel of Naxxramas. Previously, all attempts to enter had been stymied by the magical wards placed upon the rune portal. That is, until now.

We have devised a way to gain entry via a permanent arcane cloaking of sorts - an old cantrip of the Kirin Tor with a few modifications of my own. With that said, the cloaking is costly; however, your dedication to the cause of the Dawn is unwavering! We will waive all cost associations.

The following spell will be cast on you:
Arcane Cloaking

Progress

None have entered Naxxramas and lived to tell the tale.

Completion

You will feel a slight tingle, <name>. That sensation means it's working. Once complete, you will be able to enter Naxxramas by stepping upon the rune portal in Plaguewood.

You can finish this quest at honored or revered with AD. It does not require Exalted. However, if you are exalted it is free. Revered requires 2 arcane crystals, 1 nexus crystal and 30g. Honored requires a lot more and makes it worth getting to revered to stem the costs.

The Revered and Honored versions of this quest give 500 AD rep. If you can get the materials at revered it's worth it not to wait since the grind to exalted is rough...

For ultimate clarity, since people seem to be horribly confused by the existence of three separate attunement quests. The only requirement for picking up each quest is a certain reputation level with the Argent Dawn, but the objectives for completing the quests vary. You can only pick up the 'highest' version availible to you, and cannot do more than one of the attunement quests on the same character.

Note that you need to be at least honored with the Argent Dawn to become attuned to Naxxramas. There are no quests at neutral or friendly.

At honored you can do https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=9121 this quest. It's not cheap, even at 70.
At revered you can do https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=9122 this quest. The cost is reduced to less than half.
At exalted you can do https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=9123 this quest. It's free, as a bonus for reaching exalted.

You are still capable of turning in this quest, and since it is shareable, you don ' t need to have gotten it before 3.0.2. Although it may take a bit of work to find someone else on your server who still has it and has not turned it in yet willing to share it with you, and you need to be exalted already to accept.

As of now you can still get the quest from the quest giver in lights hope chapel. I was wondering why they have left in the attunement for a raid that doesn't exist anymore is beyond me.

Completing this unlocks Echoes of War, acceptable by Commander Eligar Dawnbringer.

This is an old world Nax Quest, i'm not sure if it's completable with the new WOTLK version.

As of this post, Echoes of War is not locatable on wowhead database.

This weekend I was working on some old world achievements, so I figured I would do Stratholme, Scholomance, and their respective quests. Along the way, I dinged exalted with the Argent Dawn. I picked up this quest and was surprised to find that it does count for Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and the 3000 quests completed achievements.

Also, I was able to pick up the old Echoes of War quest from the questgiver in Light's Hope. Apparently you can still complete it using mobs in Naxxramas 2.0, so I guess I will find out if it counts as well.

Where's the location of the rune portal for this quest? I know it's no longer usable for Naxx because it exists in Northrend now, but I am curious as to where it is. I believe it's in that building that's closest to the path to Stratholme, the one that has a different look than the others on the map.

I just did this quest. You accept the quest and the giver immediately has a question mark above her head. You turn in the quest and there is visual effect, but thats it. Nothing else happens. It does count for the Eastern Kingdoms quest count.
