Mountain Giant Muisek Vessel
Provided Item:
Mountain Giant Muisek Vessel

Description

The last task I will require of you is to travel to the northwest and find the final enemy.

The mountain giants left the mountains to aid the night elves when the burning legion appeared in the world. You will know them by their massive size and the way the ground begins to shake as you travel along their rocky terrain.

I am eager to harness power of that size. Kill 7 mountain giants, then use the muisek vessel to capture their powerful muisek.

Progress

Were you able to capture the mountain giants?

Completion

Just imagine the possibilities of what we now possess, <name>. Along with the materials that you have collected, I will be able to forever trap the muisek of these creatures into whatever I wish.

Gains

You'll find the giants way in the northwest. They are south of the harpy area. They are level 48-50 elite, so be ready for a fight. My level 53 shaman was able to solo this one.

Note that the darker colored giants use a ranged attack, so don't try to pull them.

You don't get any extra experience for killing the giants while they're big and elite, so you might as well zap them since it halves their HP.

This quest, Vengence on the Northspring, is also just north of where you will find these giants.

they are still elite after 2.3 patch.
to solo this quest also obtain Zapped Giants quest (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=7003 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=7003) (as mentioned above posts)
with this quest they will be non-elites.

Managed to kill the lvl 48-49-50 elites just fine with my 51 Troll shammie :)
Good thing, too, because I hate waiting and seeing quests turn green on me...

I was solo this quest with my 45lvl shaman.
Giants aren't biggest problem thanks to Zorbin's Ultra-Shrinker, but 50lvl other mobs are.
Died twice when doing this quest alone.

Think https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=10652 Will of the Mountain Giant is nice weapon for 45lvl Enchancement shaman.

I were not able to take a Mountain Giant Muisek until i've looted the corpses. So firstly take all loots from Giant corpse, and then use the Vessel.

Its killing me that your able to do all the other quests in the line but when it comes to the rewarding part you have to wait like 5lvls to solo it and the only thing you can think about while your lvling is to think of those sparkling shiny imba weapon you get when you get that damn muisek from the giants.. (btw they're in north eastern feralas above the coast and its not a good idea to try to solo it as a 44retardin)

I was able to solo it as a lvl 48 rogue. Of course it was either evasion + blade flurry or adrenaline rush on it's own, which doesn't require much skill. Although I was able to kill one of the lvl 50 mobs, I stuck the the 48 and 49s afterwards. Very happy that I was able to complete the whole quest line without having to look for help.

I was able to solo this as a 45 Affliction Lock - they don't hit very hard on the Voidwalker, and I have Glyph of Voidwalker (20% extra stamina for him at the time of writing). I only after came here and found out about the zapping them thing. Would've saved me a $%^&amp;load of time.

Few things of note for other equally crazy / stupid people:
They have about 6k health - get full mana and health before you engage anything (As obvious as that may sound, make sure your Voidwalker has full health as well).

You need Omen for this, since you will be riding your Voidwalkers threat by just draining / lifetapping / health funneling. Your Voidwalker will be missing a lot, so be very, very careful. Don't use your Nightfall procs, you will need that threat to be able to drain. My threat threshold was Corruption (Talented with Siphon Life) and the occasional Drain Life, I couldn't do much more than that (Boooooring).

Keep up Curse of Weakness - you don't need it for one mob, but it's possible to get an add in which case you'd surely want enough time to leg it.

Don't bother with the dark elites - you can't easily move them, and there are patrolling elites. I was able to do the 48 elites pretty easily, the 49 elites took so much time that I rather went searching for lower levels than trying myself at 50.

If you overaggro, you can tank them just fine for a little while, though you might need to Sacrifice + pop a Health Stone.

Wouldn't try this on a caster without infinite mana, unless you're at a more appropriate level range (At 48-50 you will not have many misses, so it should be fairly doable then). A frost mage could kite them forever, but there is not a lot of room, and they have a loot of health. Their aggro-radius seems smaller than those of the surrounding non-elite mobs, though.

This is a pretty silly ending to this quest chain. The sudden jump in level requirement is very annoying. I'm fine with the group quest thing, though. Too bad my realm had 0 horde in the zone when I was there. :(

Edit: Possibly the only useful remark in this post really, they don't run in fear when they go low on health.

Doable as a 44 hunter, but bring enough arrows, manna and time ....here is how i did it:

positioned myself at coords 38.90/25.95 halfway up the cliffs. waiting for the level 48 land walker to walk by. Send in the pet and pull the giant towards yourself at the feet of the cliff so you look down on the giant. watch out for the adds (was killed 2 times because of pulling an extra wolf and a gorilla)

Keep your pet healthy with Mend Pet and spam intimidation and bestial wrath when possible. When bestial wrath is on use volley. In between used normal arrows mixed with Arcane shot.

Don't overdo youre agro and keep it on the pet all time.....I lost agro several times and the giants then throw boulders at you. At this point feighn death saved lives :-) exept ones)

Did not try the level 50's and only once a 49er...but he took so long to take down that i decided to stick with the 48's.......Did it in about 30 minutes......normaly I would have stopped already, but here I was curious if it could be done at my level......IT CAN :-)

I found out how to make it easier to kill the giants and to complete two quests basicly killing two birds with one stone, ok go to goblin on the forgotten shores and get the quest that says zapped giants i think and the get the quest that says mountain gaints muisek from the troll in feralas and you just shrink the mountain giants and their HP is reduce by 4,000 which makes it easier. P.S. it does not reduce their dps
