Defeat Stinglasher in the Writhing Deep, bringing its glands back to Hadoken Swiftstrider at Camp Mojache, Feralas.

Description

In surveying the Writhing Deep, one of our scouts reported seeing a giant insect - much larger than the other insects spotted - wandering about the twisted terrain. Not only is it larger, it also seems to secrete some sort of aura that the other insects don't. We've given it a name - Stinglasher.

The innards of this beast would be invaluable to study as we figure out the best way to deal with this new threat. Cut out its secretion glands and bring it back to me immediately!

I found him by the west-entrance to the tunnels, but it seems he patrols up from that area and towards something to the east, probably the east-entrance to the tunnels (I pulled him before I saw where he went, though). I don't think he enters any caves. Killed him as a lvl 43 hunter with no problems. He seems to have a poisonous aura-thingy, but I kited him around the place so I didn't notice it doing anything.

I found him in between the east and west tunnel entrances. i cleared both sets of tunnels and was unable to find him. when i came out of the east tunnel he was headed from the west. It is possible he comes out of the west tunnel. the two tunnel systems do not connect so he could not do a loop underground.

Found him after 5 minutes killing mobs in the meanwhile for the carapaces at 75,60. I suggest u bring some good potions with, i personally had to use it as shaman. The poison aura does no damage at all, i think it's just for the looks or something, but he uses a venom sting often wich is an instant spell and does around 150 damage and poisons you for 40 seconds and damages u every 5 seconds for 11-12 damage. Even if u have the poison on you, he will continue to cast venom sting on you.

After completing all the Woodpaw quests, I was able to get Zukk'ash Infestation, but not this quest.

I flew to Dustwallow Marsh, turned in Tabetha's Task (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2861 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2861), came right back, and the Stinglasher quest was now available. Strange, but whatever.

For some twisted reason, this quest and Tabetha's Task are mutually exclusive. It doesn't matter if you turn in the Tabetha's or abandon it, you just can't have that one if you want to pick up this one. Weird, but whatever.

After clearing about in the western hole i found him going down the ramp there, killed. Not to hard, solo with lvl 49 Mage.
He looks kinda like the other ones except hes bigger and has some sort of poisionous (greenish) aura around him.

On a nother note: This quest and the other one you do there has an intresting rep bonus on turn in. It will say ""Your reputation with the Horde has increasse by 350"" =D

cleared both tunnels but couldn't find him, read here that he might exit the west entrance. so I sat and waited for about ten minutes, and then he showed up on his way out of the western entrance. Easy kill though, he's just an average lvl 47 foe.

I definitely recommend camping a tunnel entrance for him. I ran about trying to find him as I killed mobs for 15 or 20 minutes with no success. i finally waited at the west entrance and killed respawns, and he wandered up after just a couple of minutes.

The easiest way to find him, spam /target stinglasher meanwhile you're killing the other insects for their carapace. (I just wrote a macro for that.)
I soloed him as a lvl 43 arms warrior. I prepaired for a tough fight, so I used everything i got (Death Wish, Retailation but no pots, or food) and killed him surprisingly easy. Haven't left the half of my hp. So no worries. It's not as hard as someone mentioned here before.

I found Stinglasher at co-ordinates 78,62 in the tunnels, I turned first left and quickly found him. Was with 3 other mobs at the time, one of these was the rare spawn Qirot.

Confirmed he does go into the caves. I wouldn't suggest going into the caves unless your on the other quest though. Too much hassle for a mob. To identify him he has a green poison/plague like aura floating beneath him. Hope this helps.

i was heading out of one of the tunnels cuz i read ppl saying hes not inside while i saw it and another random mob with it, i managed to kill it with 2 other mobs using all my CDs at lvl34 warr, and he has a poison ability that deals nature damage every 5 second and it stacks, stacked up to 3 for me.

I was able to pick the quest up. I walked the whole cave and did not find him. Came here frustrated and see that it is listed as obsolete....drop the quest and 30 seconds later find him outside the cave. Went back picked the quest up again. And just handed it in. I am Horde. Hope this helps.
