Stalvan Mismantle, to find him, take the road out of town to redridge. Take the first left and he is located in the house. Once you have killed all of the others around him and he attacks be ready because he has a very quick attack time and if your a caster using DOT's use instant or you will never get them off. Exhaustion or a Frost buff of some sort will help.

soloed as a 33 druid... hes only lvl 32 and by himself inside the house... he does leave a nasty curse on you though >.< so take a druid friend if you can :)

The coordinates 77.33 are right. If you're going N out of Darkshire on the road toward Redridge it is your first RIGHT.
Solo'd him as a 30 feral druid. Not that tough, still had about 30% life left. Started with moonfire,switched to bear, popped up for a quick Rejuvenation heal and to reapply moonfire, and he ran. Hit him with moonfire again and he went down.

I just soloed him as a lvl 26 Draenei Hunter. I love that Gift of Naaru :)

Soloed as 26 shaman. Frost shock ftw. 'nuff said.

yes, it is very easy, just make sure you dont attack him while the other things around you are attacking you.

Soloable 29 Warrior 20FURY.

Just clear all the whole place and charge on him with Retaliation! =) (if you're a Warrior)

The NPC your looking for is called Stalvan Mistmantle located @ 77,36 in Duskwood

I've seen a couple people post on thottbot that the ring wasn't dropped, with one explanation being to complete the entire quest chain instead of just killing stalvan without a quest.

I completed the entire chain in order, was given the last quest to kill Stalvan & bring the family ring to Eva. Killed him solo, he dropped no ring & the quest disappeared from my log. I had checked the Q-log immediately before pulling him out of the house & the quest was there, but after I looted him & got no ring I checked the log first thing & that quest was gone. Checking back, Commander Ebonlocke has a yellow ""!"" and is waiting for me to complete my task.

Has anyone else had this problem & gotten it resolved? It was a very enjoyable questline & worth the playtime, but I'd rather not give up the 4100XP if I can help it.

Easily done as a 28 BM hunter: just make sure to have track undead on and clear the adds in the surrounding area. This is how I did it:

1) If you go out of Darkshire to the West (towards Deadwind Pass), you'll find a gate to the left; enter it and follow the road just a bit then turn left towards the undeads;

2) Clear them and clear the 2 on the field near the house and the one in front of the house;

3) Set a trap if you want and type /target Stalvan (this will allow you to target him even without him being on your line of sight as the field is to the left of the house; (no need to clear more mobs this way!)

4) Send your pet to attack him while waiting on the field; as soon as he aggroes your pet, recall the pet and let him run into the trap;

5) Move away to make room and start your pet on him;

6) Serpent sting; auto-shoot for a bit (save your arcane shot for later so as not to out-aggro your pet); Mend pet (Improved mend pet helps a lot by removing his curse!), and then do your normal hunter stuff refreshing the sting and throwing an arcane shot when you can and watching your pet's health.

Be ready to concussive shoot him should he start running at you. Didn't even touch me and didn't cause much trouble to my pet. Then out through the same way and whole thing was done in under 10 minutes counting travel and clear time...

BTW: My pet is a cat for the higher DPS

In short: 5 in Endurance, 3 in Thick Hide, 2 in Focused Fire, 1 in Bestial Swiftness, 5 in Unleashed Fury, 2 in Improved Mend Pet and 1 in Ferocity.

Final note: make sure you don't do this *right* after lvling 28; allow for your pet to lvl to 28 as well so he will be only 4 lvls lower than Stalvan and not 5, meaning less resists and more able to keep Stalvan on him! :;)

Did this as a level 29 assassination spec'd Rogue after just hitting 29.

Way I did it:

a) Clear area around him

b) Wait for him to go into house

c) Stealth and get as close as you can, he can detect you but it will be close enough to keep him in the house.

d) Pop Evasion and start waking away with Sinister Strike.

e) 5x Combo points = Expose Armor from then on use combo points for Eviscerate.

d) Pop a Greater Healing Potion as required.

From there on he runs at about 15% health, he just ran into the wall inside the house and I took him down easily after that, but he is tough as hell.

I had no problem taking him out as a lvl 29 hunter with lvl 28 raptor just heal the pet and shoot. Careful not to draw aggro from pet.

Solo'd as a level 30 priest. Keep bubbling, I only had to heal myself once and use one lesser mana potion as 1/3 of my spells resisted. He does wander when he's on low health so make sure you kill the field corpses around him.

Soloed as a lvl 30 warlock. Put the VW on him and dotted him. I actually had one of the corpses outside attack me mid fight. I just kept the VW and dots on Stalvan and dealt with the add myself. Was no problem, I did have to use a healthstone though.

I soloed this as a level 28 paladin. It was tough but i did it without using any health potions or bandages. If you are not a paladin you can not do this quest until level 30 or higher. I had to use lay on hands which heal 100% health but takes 100% mana. I also had the uber paladin wepon Vergian's fist. He wasn't in the shack he was outside of it i only had to kill one undead guy to get to him. Good luck!!

As a 30 level mage with all tallents in arcane, I cleared the area around the house first then drank water to get my mana fully up.
Hit him with frost bolt to slow him, followed by a fireball then used presence of mind to hit him with another one before he got close. Froze him in place and hit him with arcane explosions as fast as they could cycle until he broke and ran. Chased him arond with more arcane explosions until he died. Used remove curse on myself afterward. Took very little damage which healed itself on the walk back into town.

i think its after the patch 2.3.. it will be blue.

The reward ring doesnt have any mana regen, but has +2sta, +7spi.

did this with my 28 paladin and only lost about 50% of hp. its an easy quest with good(especialy in after patch 2.3) rewards, so its really worth doing this questline.

experience is now 4950 at level 32 after 2.3. Fairly easy to do as shadow priest, just clear the mobs around shack, buff up, and then pull stalvan. He has a large agro range and will run at low health.

Did this as a 26 hunter, kited him into town and he was at about 55% when the town guards finished him off for me (I was at about 5% health and mana cos he hit me a few times)

You can find Stalvan Mistmantle at [77,35] his a lvl 32 and has 3 other people around him kill them first before going after him,but watch out for Stalvan running away at the end. He'll run towards the Fetid Corpses and then you have more to fight at once. Also there is a chest hidden by the Manor at [79,33]. Not a lot in it, but it's a decent bonus.

you can find the road at 73,32. just keep going and kill some of of the Fetid Corpse guys. he'll be in the house. did it as my lvl 27 druid. if you have a heal spell, keep using it and use your abilities as much as possible

Killed 1 mob on the way up to him then just ran up and had my Voidwalker tank him, piece of cake, and nice exp 2 box :D reward was quite shit though, but who cares, it's just leveling items

He's pitty because he haves dual wield, i was 28 and used a friend to take him down

stalvan is 32, aggros at a distance, and attacks very fast and quite hard. he starts running away at around 10% health. i suggest clearing the area as best you can, since adds make this fight that much harder. otherwise it is not that difficult. a pot would be helpful.

i soloed him as a 29 priest, but due to his attack speed i had to pop pws/renewal once.

As I was approaching the shack, I saw https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=321 Tear of Tilloa (in the garden to the left) for the quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=335 A Noble Brew. Be careful picking it up, it could aggro Stalvan Mismantle out of the shack.

Solo'ed this quest as a lvl 31 Druid with Entangling Roots, Moonfire and Wrath. Easy as 1-2-3 :)

Soloed as a 30 Shadow/Holy Priest.

Not the cleanest kill, but I started with Shackle, cast Holy Fire, SW:P, smite, mind blast.. when he got up to me, I Shielded, healed, feared him, cast SW:P and Holy Fire, and Smited him until I was OOM. At which point I just wanded him to death. (Wand skills ftw.)

He uses two-handed weapons, so he hits fairly hard against clothies, and it's just a constant barrage of melee attacks. Definitely use your shortest casts/instant casts whenever possible. (Mages, frost nova would be your friend here)

Also, there was a solid chest where a previous poster mentioned.

Stalvan runs, also as mentioned, so just kill him quick or clear a few of the mobs around him. (Bonus XP at any rate)
