Description

Grabbing onto it, you pull the pack back to the shore. Perhaps if you examine the items inside the pack, you might find out more about who it belongs to.

There are a few stray travelers at Marshal's Refuge. Perhaps you might find out more there.

The small pack is located in the same pond as the start of the quest a few feet away, open the pack and return to Linken who is located at Marshall's Refuge in Un'goro Crater

My small pack also contained ""A faded photgraph"" with a picture of Linken and a woman in a town square.

the bag is quite 'large' in the water bout 2 meters from the boat

If you hadn't noticed, the 3 items in the pack are usually what you obtain in a dungeon from the Legend of Zelda, though the key is a reference to the Lion Key from the original game that could open all locked doors in any dungeon.

If i remember right, the compass usually tells you where the boss is... but it couldn't possibly work the same way in WoW... could it?

After opening the the small pack you should receive an item to your inventory. Right click it and receive the three items. The next step is to find Linken, as mentioned in the quest there are a few stray travelers at Marshal's Refuge. Perhaps you might find out more there. Linken is at 44, 8. As of patch 2.3 this quest gives 7350 XP leading you to the next step, to speak to Donova Snowden in Winterspring. She is at 31, 45.

When I open the small pack I get from the bag with the exclamation on top of it, I only get the Faded Photograph nothing else. has anyone talked to a gm and discovered this quest is bugged? or does the game just hate me?

lol, i didn't read the quest text, i figured i'd found some dead gnomish explorers keys to a secret stash of fat loots so i went looking for the centre of un'goro... unfortunately i just ran into some bad-ass elite fire wind and water elemental all-in-one and then decided to WoWhead it...
