Aquementas

Take the Book of Aquor, the Silvery Claws, and the Irontree Heart to Tanaris.

Use the Book of Aquor to summon Aquementas.

After you have the completed totem, take it to J.D. Collie in Marshal's Refuge.
Silver Totem of Aquementas
Provided Item:
Eridan's Supplies

Description

Take this bag of supplies with you to Tanaris. Travel to Lost Rigger Cove, and look for a circle of stones.

The eastmost peninsula is the secret...

From this circle only, read from the book of Aquor; summon the only creature that can transform the items you collected into a totem to fight Blazerunner.

Aquementas will not be pleased to be awakened, but remember, you must remain in the circle for him to transform the items.

Progress

So you're back, eh? Hmm... Let me take a look at that, <name>.

Completion

Blazerunner, you say...

Yes, I am aware that a strong elemental resides in the charred center of the crater. We all just keep our distance; none have been able to penetrate the powerful aura that surrounds him. Many have been pushed from the rocky paths onto the ground below when trying to face him.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 545 experience (32 70 at max. level)

Remember to take ALL the items out from the pack (claws, heart and book) or else you won't get his totem.

I didn't even need to kill Aquementas, as soon as he turned red it said that I got the Silver Totem of Aquementas so I ran lol. I was still able to turn the quest in even though I didn't kill him. Also, make sure that you take everything out of the bag that you get, meaning the claws, irontree heart, and the book, otherwise you WILL NOT get the totem.

Stokedwindsurfer: That is very possible, I completed this quest in the early days of WoW so Blizz probably got smart and fixed it.

Make sure you got enough bagpace when you open this bag! (At least 3 spots).
Costed me an trip to felwood and back because I coudnt loot the other 2 items anymore from the bag, after i got 1 out of it. It says something like: You cant loot that target, and then the bag is gone.

After you turned the quest in, you can destroy the items left in your bag.

just solo'd as a lvl 50 rogue

note that the circle of stones is located near the pirate camp. i had a little trouble finding it. it is near the mountain side of lost rigger cove. follow the cost and you'll find it eventually.

i didnt even do anything. i summoned him as usual, made sure i had bag space and everything. as soon as he entered the ring and turned hostile it said i had the wand. i hit vanish and got out of there. piece of cake

If I recall correctly, the phrase ""The eastmost peninsula is the secret..."" is a reference to the first Zelda game when the old man in the first temple gives you a hint: ""The eastmost peninsula is the way.""

Also since it hasn't been mentioned, in the game for the Super Nintendo, you throw a stone into a circle of stones to get an artifact that gives you a powerful spell.

To find the summoning circle (located at 70,49 - https://vanillawowdb.com/?maps=440:696499 here):
  • Head down to the Lost Rigger Cove in Tanaris.
  • Bear right and go past all the small pirate camps, keep close to the mountain.
  • Jump over 2 wooden walls and go past the main camp.
  • Keep right and you'll run into the ""summoning"" circle (it is a couple of stones layed out).
Make sure you have opened the pack and have the 3 items (https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11172 Silvery Claws, https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11169 Book of Aquor, https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11173 Irontree Heart) in your inventory, else you wont receive the totem. Kill Aquementas and you'll receive the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11522 Silver Totem of Aquementas in your inventory (make sure you have space!!).
Maybe they changed it, but you do have to kill Aquentus before you receive the totem.

I came in south of the location and was able to climb a cleft in the hill from there - the circle is right there. But I wasn't able to make it back out the same way, so I had to run through the pirate camp.

Aquamentas is a reference to ""Aquamentus"", a commonly recurring boss in the LoZ series.

Note that he's a reference only by NAME; Aquamentus looks like a 3-headed dragon, kind of like the Hydras from WoW.

If you look closely at the position of all the stones, and if you really think about it, they kind of look like the gold part of the first gem you get on Ocarina of Time.

I got the totem from him, but I still have the silvery claws, book of Aquor, and irontree heart. I thought he was supposed to change those items into the totem? Is it safe to throw those items away now?

And i think you must have at least one bag room free (after opening received bag and loot 3 items), because the totem goes immediately into your bags without looting, when you hit the mob for first time.

Otherwise you lost the chance to get the needed item.

Also note that it does not consume the claws and the heart to create the totem, the totem just appears in your bag after you kill Aquementas.

Did this quest chain today, although the claws/heart were not consumed when the totem was created, they were removed when i turned the quest in. Seems blizzard does fix things eventually.

To clarify MY problem, although it doesn't really seem to be one. What everyone is talking about is that you receive a bag called Eridan's Supplies. You open that and gain the three items, from there, head over to Aquementus in Tanaris, he's near the pirates at Mid-Eastern Tanaris. Once their, go near him and gather the totem. Don't have to fight Aquementus, just go near him.

Based on someone else's post, it seems like the quest items from the bag do not disappear after you turn in the quest, so turn in the quest and if you still have them you can destroy them as they have no further use in this quest. You can keep them for sh**s and giggles if you want though.

Edit: It doesn't show you getting the totem, so check on that space in your inventory often or you won't know you got it. I may keep the book just to spawn this guy a few times for fun. :D

Center of the Rock Circle coords is 70.43,49.90

I followed the previous posts and I think one of them said to stay in the circle. Well the fight went fairly easy with my lvl 54 Rogue..until I got knocked out of the ring and then Aquementas like died all of a sudden. I was terrified that something went wrong...until I saw in my chat box that I had received the totem! All was good!

When ever I tried to open the package outside the summoning area, I would receive a message saying I did not have permission to loot that item and the bag would disappear. I had to go all the way back to the quest giver, abandon the quest and get it again, then go back to the summoning area and open it there. That would let me loot the items.

There is a less obvious way to get into the area. Rather than deal with the pirates, I rode down to the entrance to Caverns Of Time, continued just past it and then cut over to the beach (watch out for the hostile turtles). Once you reach the beach, go a little ways north till you run out of beach. There is a spur of rock that you can ride/run up to the top of the hills blocking you. Jump down and you're in the circle of stones that you need.

As a side note, I did this as a rogue. Once I read the book, I could see the water elemental approaching so I went into Stealth. He could still find me and hit me. At that point I did a Vanish, lost agro and walked away. I received the Silver Totem (why is the icon of it blue?) the moment he hit me, so Vanish and then walk away. Naturally this method is rogue specific, but it worked well for me. I assume other classes have other methods that would be usable (Root for druids, etc).

I completely thought I'd lost what I needed to summon this guy. The items that you collected for this quest are in your bag inventory in a Blue Backpack called ""https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11617#provided-for Eridan's Supplies""

So open that bag up and you'll have your needed supplies to summon this guy.
