Meet at the Grave

Go to the graveyard outside Gadgetzan, and use the Videre Elixir. Follow the rest of Donova's instructions to find Gaeriyan.

Description

This elixir will allow you to speak with one that you would not normally even see...

Take the Videre elixir, along with Linken's sword, to the graveyard just outside Gadgetzan in Tanaris. Once there, drink the potion. You may be quite surprised at the results, but do not be alarmed.

In your "other" form, head due north until you reach the mountains. You'll find the one you need to speak with in one of the rocky crevices. His name is Gaeriyan.

Remember, he will only speak to you in that form...

It has been long since any have come to talk with me...

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 510 experience (30 60 at max. level)

Take the elixir in the graveyard of gadgetzen, it will kill you but you suffer no damage penalty on gear. From there head due north to the mountain range and find the ghost(54,24). He is hard to see due to the colour contrast of being dead, and the exclamation mark above his head is also grey, but he is there. Speak with him to continue questline.

Would like to point out that if you have a resurrect trigger finger like I did, just go die near the graveyard and run north. The quest will work even if you don't die from the elixir. You just need to be a ghost to see him.

""Meet the old man at the grave"" Was one of many famous quotes from the original game along with ""dodongos dislike smoke"" and ""It's dangerous to go alone"", Which is the name of the last part of this quest chain

if you happen to be on the quest but run out of elixers for whatever reason, you can also do the quest if you die (e.g. you attack an opposing faction inside gadgetzan) you take durability but it saves a trip to Feralas

Be sure you return to Donova Snowden after getting the Videre Elixir from Gregan. You can drink the elixir in the graveyard before talking with her, but you won't be able to continue as ""The Old Man"" will only say ""Please leave an old spirit to rest."" of you aren't on the quest.

Something Really fun happened to me while doing this quest. I drank the Elixir, and talked to the guy.

I finished the quest... and...

*DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!*
*You have earned the achievement: Level 50!*

I recovered all my HP and MP (i resurrected), so i had to drink the elixir at the tanaris GY again.

Something went probably wrong, because he doesn't speak to me. I died found him with no problem but I can click on the quest in the dialog window, but nothing happens, I can't finish the quest. :(

i actually drank the elixir went to find the ghost which i could not find, i went back to the grave sight and res'd went back and found him...hope this work...it def. worked for me

Guess this quest was bit trickier back in times when wow's own quest pointers weren't introduced, but things have changed from 2007. Never done this quest until now but while dead the world wasn't grey but instead the world colors were present.. Plus the guy to talk to has yellow question mark over his head.

You don't need the elixir to complete this quest. All you have to do is die (attack the other faction's flightmaster and wait) and run to the hills just northeast of Gadgetzan to turn in the quest.

As a warlock, I just life-tapped and hellfired myself to death right on top of the turn in, released, got the quest, and rezzed. I threw away the elixir and panicked, being so close to loremaster.
