Description

The grand Isha Awak is lord of these waters. Great is his strength, and solemn his pride. The humans on the coast fear him, for he has consumed many of their number.

But I do not fear him. I am grateful he is here. He is a worthy challenge, and honorable prey.

If you are ready, then swim out and search for Isha Awak, the Deep Doom.

His spirit dwells in his heart, and to hear its beat is to know your fate.

The one trick to remember, is that if you are casting spells, he will resist all unless you are physically in the water, or on one of the small islands nearby. The aggressive mobs bearby can be handled without getting agro from Isha Awak, so kill them off, then take him out.

You might not find him at 63,53 so check at 65,47. He spawns at both places, and there's a tiny, tiny, tiny chance that he may not drop the heart, as he did it with me. He's fairly easy at 27, so I would suggest getting to that level before trying to kill him. Otherwise, kill the mob first and then head for him, if you're going at a low level.

Just tried on my affliction Warlock with a void walker at level 22 and failed. I figured I would try since the patch took away his eliteness. He resisted just about everything I threw at him even thought i was in the water. Got him down to halfway but 22 is just too low, at least for me with 2 marks in Suppression. I will wait until I get another level or two. Coords are spot on.

I wandered by on a herb run when a level 21 hunter was attempting awak and couldn't complete the fight because awak kept Evading part way into the fight. I grouped up with him to try and help and not only did he Evade, we both got DCed and killed.

On the 4th try we downed him fast, and I was using all spell damage on him and he didn't bug. Don't know what was causing the bug. We were both in the water for the fights.

I found him at 64,51. As a lvl 23 warrior I got him to 10% solo before slipping to a watery grave. Close one.
Edit: I went back for a 2nd go and killed him with 25% of my health left!

Soloed as a 25 shaman, however that's useless information, as a shaman could probably do it a few levels lower as well.

The thing I wanted to post was that if you're using questhelper instead of coordinates, questhelper will only take you to one of his spawn points. If you're like me, and arrived at said spawn point only to find a druid ad a warrior had took him down just prior to your arrival, don't bother waiting there for ten minutes like I did for him to respawn.

Go to the main map, mouse over the quest icon on and a spot on the map will light up to his other spawnpoint. Just swim back and forth between them or something until you see him. Questhelper is nice, but to be honest it never tells the whole story up front, if you get my drift. :

Really easy just swim down the shallow coast until u hit northwatch hold then swim around the shallows outside northwatch hold u will find him surrounded by slimeshell makruras i killed with a lvl 24 tauren druid non-feral form with 80% health left

For those who are not above level 21, as a hunter class you should use a pet in the tenacity catagory. They are able to take a bit more damage than most. Using your ranged weapon, attempt to keep Isha Awak's attention between you and your pet. Use Serphant Sting to poison it an continue a barrage of arrows untill you start to see the effect of both the poison and the constant attack of your pet wear its health down. I solo'd this as a Lvl 19 Troll Hunter, with a Lvl 19 Crocilisk.

I just did this quest immediately after hitting lvl 24 as an Undead Warlock. I found him @ 65,47. Killed the 3 lobster things around him and then sent the Voidwalker in. Ranged him using Wand of Decay and he never once tried to hit me. Also there is a weapons crate that was underneath him with a cutlass inside.

Oh, and I was underwater the entire time, using Unending Breath. Sometimes it is good to be Undead.

Raveshadow is dead on. I'm an undead warlock, lvl 25 with a succubus, think a voidwalker would be better actually since they have taunt which tends to keep the baddies off you better. i was down to about 25% health but never in that much trouble. the advice about following the coast is very nice. i was swimming aimlessly for about a half hour before i looked it up here, doh!

It's a shame this one isn't an elite anymore since this quest is pretty boring now. I soloed him as a level 25 shaman and killed him with 100% life. It's just like killing any random enemy in that level range and there's no challenge in getting there.

not to show off or anything, but i just pwnt him with my lvl 19 hunter, so its not very hard to do. when the fight was over my pet had ~50% hp and i had ~90% hp, so its very doable at 19

i did this on my 21 warlock with voidwalker. Send in vw and let him get a couple of hits, then cast CoA, corruption and immolate then wand him. i killed him in about 2 wands and my vm barely took any damage.
just remember to stay in the water

Did it on 20th lvl, shaman. I used Searing totem + Fire Nova in combination with Shock spells. It wasn't a problem at all. :)
