Ishamuhale

Bring Ishamuhale's Fang to Jorn at Camp Taurajo.
Ishamuhale's Fang

Description

Ishamuhale, Speartooth, is the fiercest sunscale raptor of the Barrens. He does not hunt for sport, nor for food. He hunts because hunting is his passion. He kills because it is his nature to kill.

And you will learn of his nature, <name>, for your path now follows the taloned tracks of Ishamuhale.

Begin the hunt. Slay his favorite prey, a zhevra, then bring its carcass to the dead tree northwest of Ratchet. Ishamuhale will smell the carcass and be drawn to it.

Be ready when he comes.

Reward

The following spell will be cast on you:
Ishamuhale's Rage

Progress

<name>, have you bested Ishamuhale?

Completion

This fang is merely a token, but what it represents is profound.

Ishamuhale's strength is in you, <name>. May you use it with temperance. That is your burden.

That is your honor.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 180 experience (10 80 at max. level)
  • 350 Reputation with Thunder Bluff

First of all, once you've got this quest, any Zhevra will drop the fresh carcass.

Northwest of Ratchet (https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=3257 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=3257), there is a dead looking tree near the mountains. Stand near the tree and use the carcass, and Ishamuhale will appear.

hes north west of ratchet and once youve killed the zehra and got its corpse you go to the dead tree near thorn hill and summon him, hes lvl 19 and hes redder than most sunscale screechers.

https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=3257 Ismamuhale is non-elite lv19 raptor. (Tameable)
You need to kill any Zehvra to get your bait before you can fight it.
After you got your Carcass-thing bait, go to 59:30 (From ratched follow the road going to Crossroad until theres a little hill/mountain-like on your left and turn to right. Theres about 16-18 level mobs on the way. Look for dead big tree) and use (leftclick) your carcass you looted.
Ishamuhale appars istantly and aggroes, so be ready.
Its not that hard anyways, soloed with lv16 shaman with poor gear.

Good luck ^^

Just in case you do'nt have co'ords, best way I believe to find it is directly north of ratchet on the map. Standing in front of the tree looking at the mountain, My arrow was directly straight above the ""T"" in ""Ratchet"" on your world map. Also, this may be considered northwest of ratchet but you will actually be on the eastern side of the mountain between the mountain and the river that separates the Barrens from Durotar. Can't provide a screen shot as of yet because I have %^&amp;windows vista and haven't figured out where they go yet! But looking at the world map you will also be between the symbol of the mountain, ""Thorn Hill"" and the edge of the ridge there that drops down to the river. Hope that helps.

Unbelievebly, i have just soloed this as a lvl 10 pally. now i am half twinked with +5 hit on my boots and just over 500 hp but the misses were horrendous. If you were a non healing class 10 twink, i dont know if it's possible because of the mass amount of misses. I say ""half twinked"" because i still don't have the extra 15 total stam i will get from engineering and mining and the only reason im killing this beast is to finish the chain for the 3+3 agi stam leather gloves so im really not fully geared and enchanted yet but, wow... this guy is actually solo'able on a built 10.

as for basic strat, avoid other mobs by fighting him on the mountain facing side of the tree. There are 2 hyenas there to clear first a 15 and 16. Once clear, drop the carcas and walk backward toward mountain. When close to mountain just swing away at him till he's down. Now as a pally with 500hp i was getting 10-11 heals per swing that hit from my Judgement of light so that was a massive help. I have haste, and I'm swinging axe of Orgrimmar at a speed of 1.97, that is a very high axe for a lvl 10 so i got hits for 6-8 damage.

I'm not sure what guidance to give other classes. As a 10 pally you only get a 100 heal for your holy light so manage you mana very careful. Do a burst of say 2 heals then stop casting for a bit to let it catch up.

Anyhow, i'm stunned that i got this guy, my lvl 13 partner bailed on me right before the fight so i tried it out of desperation... WOOT! the gloves are almost mine!

The zhevra carcass has a 30 minute duration. Presumably Ishamuhale prefers his zhevra warm, but just be warned that if you collect the carcass and then go AFK before summoning Ishamuhale you'll have to get another.
