The cast timer along with many others in game is now one second, instead of 5. That makes this so much easier and you should not have to worry about horde attacking you interrupting your cast.

confirmed:

you must complete the wrath gate quest chain in order to see the normal zone >.<

(and don't just abandon the wrath gate quest. that doesn't work either /sigh)

I stole the flame in Undercity around 5am and the city was empty except for the guards so I had an easy time getting in & out and did not draw any aggro. Enter through the Ruins of Lordaeron and take an immediate left (corridor), another immediate left to get to the Courtyard and it's right there to the left after you turn in. Hurry up and click the torch and try to get back out safely! Best of luck to you all.

The undercity flame is above the city in the ruins for the cataclysm version of the event, if you go through the main gate it is on your immidiate left in the northeast corner of the ruins.

If you see an elevator with 2 guards either side of the door then you have gone too far, come back out and have a look around.
