The Darnassus flame is around here:

You do not need to enter Darnassus itself, it's outside the entrance

It wasn't that bad on Horde side doing this either. I just did it on my druid.

For both Stormwind and Ironforge it is advised to get to the tram as fast as possible. Dying your way through Ironforge front gates takes a long time. Stormwind was easy when I took the tram.

Stormwind you should navigate via the waterway. You shouldn't have too much trouble, plus you can sneak right up and out of sight of the majority of players who are guarding it. I just went from the tram to the nearest water and swam the whole way popping up and taking that flag.

Ironforge is straight forward, run and die. It took a lot of times dying to do that. Eventually you get there. I would take the tram and save a lot of deaths that way. There is one or two patrolling guards. They seem to both leave at the same time so it is easy to time it.

Darnassus is hard to tell. Sneaking played a big roll in me figuring it out. I snuck on the boat, and then snuck up to the fire. It's outside the town so it should be easy to get to. Hiding beneath the bridge is advisable, but make sure there are no guards walking on it first.

Last thing to be noted is that I got 4950exp from each flame I turned in and then another 4950 exp from getting the crown. A nice 20k exp benefit is a fairly good motivator for most people.

I hope this saves a few people some trouble. Good Luck to you all.

Also note that if you DO happen to die tryin to get the flame that running across the ocean to get to your corpse is a big no no.

Doing so will result in your ghost being fatigued and then dying again (yes you die as a ghost) and then leaving you with no choice but to spirit rez

I learned the hard way =/

On non-PvP realms, this flame can be picked up while unflagged, since it's not actually inside Darnassus. The only hard part, then, is making sure a guard doesn't path into you while you do it.

The Sundering has done an impressive job of outdating lots of previously reliable knowledge, including this comment. Darnassus' flame has been moved from Ruth'theran Village to the Warrior's Terrace inside the city. No more ""freebie"" non-flagging flame for the Horde.

(It may still be the easiest to get. There's no thickets of NPCs on the ground waiting for you, the sky patrols are rather easily avoided, and it's one of the emptiest cities in the game. As someone who could fly, I suffered much more getting all the other flames.)

The Darnaussus flame was the easiest for me because there wasn't a single Alliance guarding it for some odd reason. For the horde that don't know which boat to take for Darnaussus, when you are walking down the dock you take a right and wait for the boat there. You could also call that north. or northeast.

The flame is not inside Darnaussus, it is right outside, when you get off the boat continue down the dock and take a right if you don't already see it. Its a real piece of cake for me when I was level 67.

The other flames are...

Since no one bothered to mention this, the flame is in Ruthe'ran Village.

This tends to be the most heavily Alliance-camped fire on my realm (US Kirin Tor). I am ashamed to say after five runs back from the Auberdine graveyard, I decided to stand next to the flame in ghost form and wait for someone in tank gear from my side to show up. While they tried to take him down, I rezzed and snatched the flame.

A little mercenary, but you know... what's done is done.

If you're doing all the fire quests, I'd suggest de-equipping, getting the Darnassus flame, then running into Darn and dying.
You'll appear at the GY in Dolanaar, about 50y from the fire there - rez, take the sickness, get the fire and stone out.
Saves you all the running through Darn and just plain time.

Thanks silkfire. Didn't think it did anything else since I did not have any debuffs on me at the time.

Easiest Alliance flame by far. If you are high level the guards are no issue. I easily avoided them as a 72. Since it's outside you aren't automatically flagged (on a PVE server of course), and looting the fires don't flag you, so you don't even have to worry about ganking afterward either. And, you can avoid the guards in Auberdine too. The boundary of the ship is a little bigger than it looks so there are places not on the deck you can stand where you will still move with it. So you can swim to the dock and just press up against the back of the boat, right in the middle. When the boat moves you will too. If you have some water walking it's even easier still. I used this to get there and back safely. I was unable to make it work on the boat to Azuremyst.

Yes its Now at Warriors Terrace and Easily accessible to Horde.

Just fly over the tree and head there then fly above flame and Fly Straight Down and Steal.

This results in no Guards attacking you at all. ^^

64.45, 47.40 Warrior's Terrace. Fly straight down, steal the flame, mount, fly back up. Watch out for flying guards, otherwise it's easy.

Just tried to steal Thunder Bluff's flame on my Alliance druid and was unable to get anything. Also tried on my Alliance mage, still unable to get anything. My druid did this last year no problem, but my mage has never had done this quest, so I'm not sure if it's bugged or what. Anyone else having a problem with the opposing faction's capital city flames?
